My favorite speech from Al has to be: Al: See, healthy people are like dinosaurs, their not fit to survive. Jim's body couldn't handle the burgers, and bon bons, and pastry suckins like real Americans. You see Peg we, are the truly strong. Peg: You really think so Al? Al: Absolutely. Al: See that cockroach there? Peg: That one? Al: No, that one.... Well any one of them. You don't see them carrying off a can of wheat germ do you? Kelly: 'Gurm' dad. Al: Thank you pumpkin. So Peg let's all follow the example of our friend the cockroach; They where here before man, and they'll be here after man. You know why? They eat crap. And I say; Anything that's good enough for the cockroach is good enough for my family.

As a married man for many years, it's pretty liberating not having to slick back my hair, put on cologne or swishy clothes or waste time in shitty clubs anymore. It's just a bar of regular soap, a stick of regular deodorant, regular toothpaste and the same-ass haircut for the last 20 years. I've aged into the man I was meant to me and with a good woman still with me by the grace of God I'm lovin' every minute if it...and we both love Al Bundy 😂😂😂

I feel some connection with this man. I had a life once. Then, when I was 18, everything changed and I got acquainted with the bottom of the pit. Slowly, through a lot of shit, life was recovering, I had children, a job, a place of my own. Then at the age of 30 another breakdown befallen me. At 30 you don't have the same time to get over yourself and rebuild your life. If you have kids, it's even worse, because you drag them down with you. So, to prevent that, I had to send them away with their mother. As they're better off away from me. And that's how you go from a man standing on his pride to an alcoholic bum. Al Bundy is an inspiration to me..

I'm watching MWCh from the beginning. At the end of 3rd season I can't imagine anything better than Al's monologue from episode with librarian (it caused tears in my eyes): "So you think I'm a loser? Just because I have a stinking job that I hate, a family that doesn't respect me, a whole city that curses the day I was born? Well, that may mean loser to you, but let me tell you something. Every morning when I wake up, I know it's not going to get any better until I go back to sleep again. So I get up, have my watered-down Tang and still-frozen Pop Tart, get in my car with no upholstery, no gas, and six more payments to fight traffic just for the privilege of putting cheap shoes on the cloven hooves of people like you. I'll never play football like I thought I would. I'll never know the touch of a beautiful woman. And I'll never again know the joy of driving without a bag on my head. But I'm not a loser. 'Cause, despite it all, me and every other guy who'll never be what he wanted to be are still out there being what we don't want to be forty hours a week for life. And the fact that I haven't put a gun in my mouth, you pudding of a woman, makes me a winner."

@@drServitis It was brutal at times, but I did do some of the best work of my life (at least up to that point). It was a new experience, and I got away from home for a while. (I commuted to my college.) Job-wise, the M.A. helped in some cases, but had no effect in others. These days, I'm hoping to make a transition to being a mechanic. More money. But, yes, I'm glad I did it. Above all, I was happy after 20 years to be finally done with school (starting with nursery school).

@@dcavalli9 Sorry for all the questions. Just came across your comment that sparked an interest. In the university I went to they offered a master's in public administration and a master's in political science in the same department. You said your master's is in 'politics'. Do you know how that would differ from the MA in political science? Again, just curious. Hope your switch to being a mechanic pays off for you. You must be a good student to get through everything you've pursued in education.

I like the bathroom episode where she turns the bathroom pink. You tells her change it back Peg and of course she doesn't and he goes in there and unleashes a massive dump, while all the people from her decorating class were in there

My favorite Bundy quote is considerably longer but includes a similar statement in it Al made at the end of his Christmas poem "Twas the night before christmas, and all trough the house, no food was a-stirring, not even a mouse... Stockings were hung around dad's neck like a tie, along with a note that said "presents or die"... Children were plotting, all night in their beds", while the wife's constant whining was splitting his head... But daddy had money, this year in the bank, then the bank closed up early, now dad's in the tank... All of a sudden, Santa appeared, a sneer on his face, booze in his beard! "Santa" i said, you do so much for others, do something for me... "Bundy" he said, you only sell shoes, your son is a sneak thief, your daughter a flooze... "HO HO" said Santa, should i mention your wife? Hair like an A-bomb, nails like a knife! As he climbed up the chimney, that fat piece of dung, he mooned me two times, even stuck out his tongue I heard him exclaim, as he broke wind with glee, you are *Married with Children*..... and you'll never be free."

my fav quote: Every morning when I wake up, I know it's not going to get any better until I go back to sleep again. And the fact that I haven't put a gun in my mouth, you pudding of a woman, makes me a winner.
