My dad loved model trains. Watching this takes me back to my childhood and my early adulthood when my father and I would talk about wanting to build one major layout that we would both love. We were firefighters together, and even though he was chief, it was something him and I bonded with.. Model trains, RC cars, planes, helicopters, and boats.. He loved his big boy toys.. He never drank, yelled, or most importantly, he never left.. Im the youngest of 4 boys and I am 51 now.. We are all still here and my mother. Unfortunately, My father passed just over a year ago, and it was very sudden. Sudden as in sitting and talking with him at home and two hours later we found him and he was gone. He loved all of us so much and sacrificed himself for all of us.. He was a true man through and through.. But did he ever love his Big boy Toys. Every Christmas I would set up a train under my tree for my two daughters and my father would either help or just come over to enjoy it leading up to Christmas. My daughters are both adults with their own children now, but I still set up that train with tunnels in and out of the presents and the villages for them to remember and enjoy and for my grandchildren to enjoy just as I did.. I am very sorry. I know that was a ton of not needed information, but this video brought back so many great memories.. I was fortunate to have a big kid as my father... 😊

I don’t know how many people this took or how many years, but the variety and attention to detail is outstanding. It’s obvious that so much went into the planning alone. He died last year May10th 2021, and my oh my did he take a lot of knowledge with him, he was a very smart man and helped men on the railroad to pass tests and was just the best railroad man on earth my heart is broken and he was my rock, my air, my bones, and now I have him sitting next to me here by the Computer in his Black Ebony Chest to help me and give me some "Bark" to carry on. I see him in that little train passing by around and around and I can carry on. "Get some Bark Honey" that's what he would say. I am trying and for him I gotta be tough and keep going.

I don't mind a painting here and there, but none of those paintings told such a story as this. I laughed (naughty lads climbing the tree for a peek at the House of Ill Repute - with the Presbyterians right next door no doubt praying for their ruination. "They've got liquor and gambling and women of the Devil! Oh LAWD have Mercy!" 😂) but I also cried, following the stories of the fishermen with the sunken boat, and at the absolute mastery of a craft such as this.
