My first show! I had been a fan for years, but had never experienced them live. They were "on." I achieved a state of mild euphoria during this song. This show inspired me to go to 30 shows over the next four years. Good times!

First time I heard this was at the Rosemont Horizon in 1988. I was having a bad trip, and I thought for sure Jerry was singing to me and telling me I was going to die. I didn't....So nice to hear it now. Love it and love this version.

Jerry was all over it and The Beast was open full throttle in that closing jam. I was there, and it was huge. HUGE. One of those THIS IS WHAT WE LIVE FOR moments. But Bob must have had a hot date with a Vegas filly or something because he squelched what should have been a triumphant cool-down ending by jumping into One More Sat Nite to wrap the set.

I think I was at this show, if this the one where Santana played Bird Song. The one and only time I ever did ecstasy, crazy stuff. I remember before the show they were piping in the sounds of slot machines paying out and the sound went round and round the stadium pa system. It was festival seating and I told my buddy grab my shirt we're going all the way up front, and that's just what we did, we just plowed through all the little towns people had erected. There was some hippie grumbling, but I know all their baggage laying around everywhere didn't pay for a ticket like the one I had in my pocket. And my view was more important then their picnic areas, so we forged ahead undaunted. We finally settle in like a no mans land between four blanket houses. Just then I started to get off on the ex, but the undercurrent of hostility started to freak me out. I thought, fuck don't freak out here, I was just on that edge and just then... like magic the band came out, started to play, and I thought great, concentrate on the music. Worked like a charm, the mood changed, we lit up and shared the wampum with the neighboring tribes and we all made nice. I wasn't moving so it was a good thing, I'd hate to have stomp on a neo hippie in front of all his friends, but I would. LOL. no I kid, I'm a peaceful guy, but fuck if I was going to let anyone stop me from a ring side seat, I'm Willy Fucking Wanka man, I got a gold ticket in a chocolate bar.. Later that night I pulled the trigger on a slot machines, got three 777's and won $175 on one Nickle. Icing on cake, eat rinse repeat, good, good.

Check out the Peter on 4\2\87 Worcester Centrum.... My miracle show. If you're able to find a crowd recording, like I have from a cassette, it's amazing to hear how pin quiet it gets and then Jerry screams run and see and the place just erupts. Jerry then proceeds to melt the place down with a very electric ripping lead...

I was explaining the thunder and lighting during drums to a couple sitting behind me...they hadn't seen the Friday show. It happened right on Q the next night as well. They were exstatic as was I. Trying to explain something like that in words was woefully inadequate. As the clouds gathered in the distance, we were on the edge of our seats...

I was there for a few times- Sam Boyd. Steve Miller, Sting, Santana. I don’t remember too much, was a Hellcat back in the day. Glimpse of bliss. Ventura in the 80’s is what I dug. Dig into Archive and video. Was in your face and close back then before Touch of Grey made them go stadium. Economic of course and God bless them for so many good times. Bumped into Weir at a restaurant on Market. Chatted for 1 hour waiting for tables. Funny guy. Hope they stay away from Bohemian Grove!

These were great shows with Santana killin' it during the opening sets. Bruce and Vince on the keys was nice to have on tour for a little while. A beautiful liquid experience and I really miss those days of daze. Thanks for posting.

Always one of my favorite Jerry songs perfect after D/S. My personal fave is Providence 9-07-1987- a short ripping solo but very powerful. Unfortunately there aren't any sources circulating that come even close to the sound quality here as Healy really dropped the ball for SBD recordings in 87. I like AUDs but even those aren't that good for that show. 91 was the last Great solid year for the band, once Bruce left Jerry started getting bored more often. Still some great shows after just fewer

I like the 6-5-70 Black Peter posted 1-21-13 with 640 views. 1 comment. Voice too far out in front. Robert Hunter said when they wrote it, it was meant to be a giddy lil tune, but Jerry turned it into a monster. I think this is the Hunter's vision version. And the vocals too far out in front is the monster version i love.

I grasp the 🐐 acknowledgment 1979.12.01 ain't bad either, in fact Ballad slot ends seemed to only improve from 1991 > growing more vocal which was always the opposite of what I thought the trend would be. He had some beautiful guitar centered ballads, ie. SOTM Eugene, Or. Huey Lewis. Yet in 1992-1995 it was the Guitar followed by vocal bliss that felt intense. ie 1994.08.01 Stella Blue.
