Glenn is an excellent Haden seedling, very good all round productive tree that grows low and lateral. Sometimes Glenn produces a few smaller mangos that will get really bright sun blush and have a concentrated flavor. I can usually tell a Glenn mango tree when the low branches sweep close to the ground

Glenn’s are great. People like new shiny things but old reliables like Glenn’s are just as good as any as long as it doesn’t rain too much or they get watered down. It probably is one of the few varieties that are resistant to bbs.

Had an excellent Glenn last week, today I had a Dot, that blew me away, I measured the brix at 24 not just extremely sweet, but flavor was like it was concentrate. those "old" varieties can still kick some taste buds.

@@agriperma don’t get me started on Maha chanook, I had some excellent ones recently, I like them as much and sometimes even more than lemon zest, especially the tree.

I love sugarloaf. My friend bought me 2 week old sugarloafs, and I still had to wait almost another week for them to get ripe. They weren’t as great as they could have, but they were still a very strong 9.

Man, I sincery wish I was plugged in to network of true appreciators of mangos and cultivators who where we could share and discuss the flavor profiles that we come across. Every mango has a flavor personality, and just like humans. Most are descent many are good, some are outstanding, and some are next-level special. And unfortunately many are also just not worth engaging with as disapointment is practically guaranteed. Like humans, they are the product of both nature and nurture via genetics, upbringing, environment, and trauma. A lot of folks are into wine and cannabis cultivars due to an appreciation of the infinite nuances with which they can delight the palate and senses. In a similar way, I hope that one day more people will begin to experience and appreciate this amazing gift thet nature has blessed us with 🥭

Its hard to pick the best tasting mango. Depends on ripening fertilizer etc. I love valencia pride off a tree I know and have had it from somewhere else and its very different. I also know a kent tree that is very very good.
