You can't solve a mouse problem with traps alone. Exterminators always start outside your house sealing any cracks and holes they find in the foundation and siding. In this case he lives on a farmstead. The barn isn't sealed and there's tons of nearby food sources outside the barn. Also many of the videos are at his friends and neighbors farms.

I guess this trap was discontinued because of the anti-freeze idea, which is now illegal in Sweden (likely since about 1990). The point of the anti-freeze is not primarily for the trap to work during winter, but for the triple purposes to a) work as a bait (because of the sweet smell of old-fashioned anti-freeze), b) to stop mice from rotting (at least trap the smell), and c) slow down water evaporation. These traps were often left unattended for extended periods of time at summer cabins/country houses. Or so I've heard... At least two of three in the list are true.

@Lars Millberg This trap is actually aprooved to use in sweden, naturvårdsverket and jordbruksverket is apparantly okay with this trap, but just the trap, not using anti-freeze(that's illegal), they don't mention anything about anti-freeze in their pdf, it just states that the trap is aprooved. Jula sells a version of the trap, and thay state it's not allowed to use water(which means any liquid i guess) in the bucket.

If still curious, he uses CO2 gas to humanely kill them. It's a painless method which puts them go sleep and then kills them.

I think that injection moulding is far more energy efficient for batches of these. (3d printing is ok if you just want to make one.)

The little trial test with your pet mice was just too cute. And seeing you sorta "incurage" one of the deer mice to hurry and go was cute as well. By the way, I'm sorta glad that you humanly disposed of the other invasive mice that you caught. This was just a nice trap and didn't cause them harm before you got to them. And the skunks, rats, and possums were able to have a nice meal.
