Having the subs in the same place as your left and right can cause issues. I have matching 550p subs underneath my JBL Studio 580's, and it does not work at all. I knew this would be the case, but I wanted a pair of these subs for other reasons. They're unplugged and just being used as stands right now. If you have 2 subs, you kind of want them in non-symmetrical places. I suppose you could put these towers in a room, but just not centered in the room. Also, does it have the ability to mix in LFE from an RCA jack?

Aww! Proud Speaker Daddy right here! These are a fantastic product offering for those who like to be involved with their audio system. From assembly of the speakers to the flexible tuning features they offer, these are a compelling deal for any hard core audio enthusiast. Another factor to consider is these should do just fine with a quality but not massively powerful and expensive amplifier, which can save a lot of money on the overall system budget. While not inexpensive by any means, I have no doubt the performance of these will put many far more expensive "snobby" audiophile speakers to shame. I'm talking the kind of speaker that the Stereo Review guy likes to slobber over while playing painfully esoteric music I've never heard of through a pair of monoblocks that cost as much as my nicely optioned truck. Hi Danny! I have a suggestion, that will surprice and delight quite a big part of the diy community. Make a speaker with horn/pro drivers in the midrange and tweeter aria. Without the normal horn coloring and distorsion and dispersion issues. Maybe with metal hifi tweeters in a horn on top. And not for heavy metal, but jazz and folk and classical music. With the horns dynamic and "live" properties. Midrange from 5-600 Hz and up. And preferably as dipole/open back. There are many good affordable midrange drivers these days. Mofi 8" and 10" killers... Best regards, HelgeH, Denmark

@mitchdowning8188 Жыл бұрын
@bowmandk1 You are a true visionary. The future for audiophiles will be the result of designing loudspeakers using horn -loaded drivers in ways to overcome the beaming that is characteristic of dynamic ( point source) drivers. Note that the horns will NOT be pointed directly towards the listener, but aimed up or down to produce a larger sound field.
@mitchdowning8188 Жыл бұрын
@@BowmanDk1 It's no coincidence that music recorded live in a small venue ( like a jazz quartet in a club) can sound more realistic in a typical sized listening room. Might also correlate preferences in recorded music with ability of a sound system to closely reproduce that environment.

@@dannyrichie9743 I know you mentioned a problem with horns is the phase alignment between the waveforms of the recessed horn drivers and the more forward tweeter. @dannyrichie9743 Жыл бұрын
Center to center spacing is fine for drivers crossing this low. For a perfect blend the dial on the servo crossover is at 80Hz. Acoustically they are crossing above the range. There are no grill options right now. Servo control is a must hear.
@wattspeakers Жыл бұрын
@@dannyrichie9743 Thx! 80Hz is low, and explained the spacing. So it's sort of like having stereo subwoofers! Your mid-bass drivers in parallel must be kicking nice and tight. Really nice build. I recently hooked up a vintage pair of Energy 6th order passive bandpass subs which roll off around 100 but are audible into the 200 Hz range, while reaching into the mid 20's on the low end. 40 year old speakers likely won't compete with the woofer you've got, but I was pleasantly surprised how much more musicality it added to a full range set of 8" 2 ways, (which go down in the mid 30's, but adding the stereo subs is different than an LFE or a DVC sub. It's likely that the passive high pass on the top speakers will not "burn power". If implemented correctly, it will present a high impedance to the amp at low frequencies, and therefore consume low power at those frequencies.

ATC with their mid range drive is some of the best imaging I've ever heard from a rectangular fully active box.. The ATC's are around 20K pounds,euro or dollar. However your system to get the best will require something great power wise and something great preamp wise as well. We're probably kicking on the heels of 20K. So why didn't you make this fully active???
@dannyrichie9743 Жыл бұрын
You can get there and easily surpass the ATC's without spending anywhere near that much on the electronics.
@mcgovernjimmy Жыл бұрын
At 94dB, you can run these speakers to LOUD levels with a sweet sounding, 30w/channel tube amp and have amazing sound. The servo sub amp will do all of the heavy lifting. There is no way I would want a "fully active" speaker where the speaker manufacturer is dictating to me the amplification for the midrange / tweeter, as that is very much a "suit to taste" issue. An "active speaker" with an amp for the subwoofer is the only option I'd consider.

Might I suggest an idea Danny? Why don’t you offer these speakers and others with upgrades. What I mean is to have a luxury model with the top notch drivers.
@dannyrichie9743 Жыл бұрын
That would be our NX Series models.

i am a bit confused regarding the lower woofer. How do you power the amps in each box? Do you run a power cord from each to the wall or??
@paulb4661 Жыл бұрын
No, it's an active sub powered by Wi-Fi, it comes with a PoWi-Fi router, that can additionaly fry your eggs, if you get close to it 😉
@raidendigital1003 Жыл бұрын
Yes, you run a power cord to each speaker. How else would that work? It's a subwoofer plate amp on the back.

I like this a lot and have been waiting for this video. I've always been fasinated by the Scanspeak Maxima, wich is essentially the same but in separate boxes. For me, I'd love to see this configuration in separate boxes similar to small monitors with separate subs, so it's just a bit easier to place in the room. Looking forward for some reviews on these monsters! 😊

use loudness at low volume ,it´s there for it,i don´t get how you critise this speakers badly ,not you type of sound maybe. it depends on the size of the room ,this are ok for larger rooms and they do release a great sound ,using tone controls and loudness or even a extra equalization ,this controls exist to be the better you want them to sound, in a studio i have since 1970 with upgrades till today ,i have equalizers from dbx and some altec lansing restored like the jbl´s and pioneer´s(twin 2401 exclusive series from Pioneer )done by the same engenier . this are great sensivety speakers,yes the bass is incredible that is the problem with some newer speakers ,also the room to play them, in the wider low frequency spectrum you listen the glass from old doors in furniture vibrate as hell ,those lower frequency´s one is supposed to do not hear

@dannyrichie9743 Жыл бұрын
@@MS-pw8yu For me to measure accurately down to range below 200Hz requires the microphone to be further away. I can't do that using a gated time window measurement. If I get much beyond 52 inches I can't gate out the room reflections. It is easy to see in a room response or taking a nearfield measurement to see what is going on.

Yes, it’s sad. But a ac/ac converter like 220vac to 110vac is an option, but to some extra cost. Would have been nice with a DC input choice on the amp so it would work all over the world.

The amps can run on 120 or 230 volts. However, Rythmik does not guarantee them be dead quiet on the 230 volt setting (some are, some are not). Also, any warranty or repair work will require the customer to cover shipping both ways.

@@dannyrichie9743 Sad that Rythmik haven’t solved this. Commitment. Exports ain’t big enough, so why take a deeper look at this hummmm. So much for warranty from them. Sad. Definitely not a US company. BUT my 240 vac Rythmik plate A370peq works perfect and I’m happy.

@@thomasschafer7268 Well, if you want the Best like the Beast or Bully, then you got to pay. Same goes for Americans if the would like to buy the Mum 8 from PresentDayProduction. Sad both ways. I have experienced it. You can buy the CSS kits from a German company, but the are expensive.
