I went to the vulcano outside Santorini in the late seventies. Then it seemed quite dead. No sulferic fumes. No rumbeling. I felt quite safe then, but I do not want to go back, not after following you 😀

Because Japan has very strong building regulations that allows buildings to withstand earthquakes as much as possible.

Japan has unique structure building codes that allow their buildings to sway with a quake. They have been building this way long into the past as they have always had to deal with quakes. Cali has taken the Japanese building styles and implemented them to help with their new buildings.

they do have some damage but they are so well prepared , probably the best prepared nation when it comes to earthquakes but if there is an epicenter closer to a city they have some homes tilting but it seems still there is not many deats

I never saw an island that had that shape as Kameni. You can actually see where the lava had flowed outward to make that finger-like blobs! How very unusual... And the big main island with the huge crater, kind of reminds me of Campi. You see that circular but broken shape there too. I wonder how many more of these there are around the world? Hopefully it wont do anything.
