Hi Colin, They say life is all about Timing and attitude, My timing was to retire here as soon as possible and I made it just as I turned 62 although it was 10 years in the planning and undertaking. As for the attitude side I came here to live not to die and as such embrace every day to the full appreciating all I have family friends and Life. GT

Yum! My mother used to make jam tarts with leftover pastry too. My neighbour came round with some cooking apples a couple of weeks ago from her garden. Made a batch of apple pies. You can't beat home made

Great video Gordon, I have my mums recipe book and she was a great baker, I have often considered in retirement making her gingerbread or maybe shortbread but, as I am constantly fighting the battle of the bulge, I have resisted so far. In fact I haven’t even bought a biscuit since March. Having a cuppa without a ginger nut or a bit of shortbread isn’t just the same but i am consoled when I read the ingredients in processed biscuits and if they aren’t available in the baking isle I pass. No recipe she had ever asked for a pinch of soy lecithin or palm oil. So we soldier on, mainly in the hope I’ll get my arse back to a size that’ll fit in an airplane seat and come to visit you.

Looking forward to the visit James. I am losing weight on one meal a day however I still partake in a few libations of Dr Leo about 5 a day, so far I have lost 6kg in the last 10 days. GT
