Fun fact from a WMWM sub: My uncle was a grip/boom mic operator/gopher on this flick and when he thought I was 'mature' enough, he shared with me the fact that all the workers on set were gonzo on The Reefer! Every time they watched dailies they howled in laughter but the checks cleared so on they went. He loved it when I shared that I'd seen the flick at a drive in and I too was using The Demon Weed and our VW was rockin' with laughs. What a world eh? WOOF!

I am so thrilled to see this one! I have always loved TISCWSLABMUZ since I first heard about it in "The Golden Turkey Awards" as a teen. One of my fondest memories was going to Ray Dennis Steckler's video store in Vegas one afternoon and talking about his movies with him for hours. He was thrilled someone was still interested in his work. Before I left I bought a copy of each of his videos (autographed, of course) and he gave me the last copy of the poster to TISCWSLABMUZ he had, which was slightly torn and hanging in the front window of his store (it is now restored and framed in my study). It's autographed to me and is a real treasure. He also gave me a latex (rubber?) mask that they used during screenings of the film when they'd have people run up and down the aisles of the theater during the zombie escape scene near the end of the film. Ray was an unusual talent, and I'm grateful I got to meet him. He passed away a couple of years ago, and the cinematic universe is dimmer without him.

For those connoisseurs of bad movies out there, maybe you could help. I’ve been looking for a movie I saw on tv in the mid 80’s. Horror flick. Probably mid to late 70’s. My memory isn’t 100% after almost 40 years, but …The setting of the only scene I remember is either industrial or a backstage area. Think catwalk, pulleys, etc. I blue/grey/silver(?) humanoid creature is waiting behind a wall or object as the guy (cop?) enters from the background to the foreground. The creature snags the guy from behind as he passes, pulls his head back, and bites his cheek right off. Spits it on the ground. This freaked me out tremendously as a kid, but I can’t find the movie anywhere. It was on regular tv afternoon movies in the mid 80’s, so it had to be old at the time. And yes, I HAVE already tried Tip Of My Tongue on Reddit, r/horror, various boards on Bloody Disgusting, etc. If anyone knows (or even has a vague idea) please let me know! I’ve watched countless random bad movies for years trying to find it.

"A pioneer of... lethargy" I feel personally attacked 😆 "Killing business" indeed. I actually find the story of the fortune teller kind of believable. Being a carnie fortune teller was her identity and doing what she did allowed her to feel powerful (as this was easier for her than actually pursuing a successful life). As a woman who was deeply pathological, she saw no need to deal with the consequences of her actions; they were mere inconveniences. Instead, she would rather have people she doesn't like murdered.

What astounds me: Its title, "The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies," is NOT a bad translation - perhaps from Italian or some other language in which it comes across as far more compelling - and it is not a mega-cheap Grade F foreign film. I love your channel, Mark, and always have a blast watching your videos. But I have to skip this one because, for reasons even I don't fully understand, I have a deep and abiding love for THE INCREDIBLY STRANGE CREATURES WHO STOPPED LIVING AND BECAME MIXED-UP ZOMBIES. It's not even an ironic appreciation, though I can certainly see & admit that the movie is objectively terrible in every way, and I love the MST3K version as much as everyone else here. But there's something about TISCWSLABMUZ that speaks to me like no good movie (or even any other bad one) ever has. It's like a fever dream, like an acid-free acid trip that's so bizarre and unsettling that I'm never quite sure when it's over if I just watched an actual movie or took too much Benadryl and fell asleep in the hot sun for an hour and a half and dreamt it all. At any rate, this is the one episode I must respectfully click past, lest this weird obsession of mine with this beautifully terrible masterpiece put me on the defensive.
