I'm so sorry, family court is a nightmarish ordeal. I have paid 10s of thousands of $$$ to family law attorneys, it feels like legalized theft. I hope you are able to regain contact with your son. Unfortunately, I know how it feels to be seperated from my child. It's a heartache no one fully understands unless they've experienced it. I asked for supervised visitation only for my ex's visits with our son because he told me that when he got the chance he would leave with him and I'd never see him again. The judge thought I was being ridiculous. He was given unsupervised visitation, I was told that if I didn't comply, I'd go to jail and lose primary custody. HIS own mother testified in court that he should not have unsupervised visitation, as he has a history of DV and aggravated robbery felonies. The judge ignored her. Yes, he abducted our 14 month old baby, they were missing for a year. My son suffered horrific abuse and neglect, so after my son was found and returned to me, the court denied his father _any_ visitation at all. He screamed threats at me and my father inside the courtroom, that he would make us pay with an "endless stream of tears". On what would have been our 5th wedding anniversary, he went to my parents' house and shot my precious father to death... and got away with it. He was found months later when our story was featured on "Unsolved Mysteries", and a woman he had robbed recognized him. He was never indicted. The cops somehow lost all the evidence they collected at the scene that day, including the only eyewitness to the murder, the next door neighbor. The cops didn't bother to get his information first, and the terrified guy who had only been living there for a couple of weeks immediately relocated with no forwarding address. The DA claimed that because our story was on that show, it "tainted the jury pool". What BS!! If that was true, then every crime featured on shows like that would be impossible to prosecute. It was only seven minutes of one episode, few people actually saw it. I took my son and moved 1500 miles, changed my name and built a new identity with a new credit history far from that redneck town and its corrupt, lazy police dept. He found us a few months ago, he sent my son a letter. My son is now 32, and absolutely hates the POS who murdered his beloved grandfather. My son is also a good shot with a rifle, and we have guard animals that make it impossible for anyone to sneak up on our home far out in the boonies. He would be stupid to come here. He's not stupid, but he is evil.

Ari Melber is as good as it gets in broadcast journalism today, the real deal. His grammar and diction are impeccable, he does not dramatize his stories, and knows the law. His delivery is crisp and makes even complicated topics understandable. His interviewing techniques are flawless, and he makes his interviewees comfortable (a must to get complete answers). IMO, there ain't nobody better than Mr. Melber. Thank you, Sir.
