Not everyone. The same mistake they made with the X1D is that they just give it to anyone. The reviews became bad since these reviewers don’t use the camera everyday and for months. I’d rather see Paid advertising and professionals exploiting these cameras.

This looks pretty awesome and reminds me of a me of the older Hasselblad cameras. I remember the first time I took the EVF off my Fujifilm GFX 50S, it gave me a similar vibe of shooting an old square body. That camera is very cube-ish in nature if you view it top down.

I've always wanted a Hassy 500 c/m with a phase one back.. the fact that this is a 100MP for $8200 is pretty amazing, considering older digital backs were like $50,000.. Now if only I could afford something like this or a GFX with 110 f2

This isn't something I would go for but it feels like the accessories were well thought out, at least on the surface (not sure if they actually function well). The price point obviously makes it niche but I'm all for the industry continuing to make out-the-box products.

Like you, the X2D is far more practical for what I do. But I do want the 907x + CFV-100c for that different form factor. The lack of a hot shoe accessory had me not get the CFV-50C II but it's good to see one for the 100c. Also, the remote shutter accessory works with the 100c! I've been rather annoyed that they didn't put the 3.5mm jack in the X2D for the remote shutter. Tangent: some of these commenters suck. Apparently, they've never witnessed what a review embargo looks like. And you don't have to be rich to get these cameras... good budgeting and smart shopping go a long way if you want to finance your hobbies.

If price wasn't an issue for me, YES I would Love to have this for both using with the 907X body but also with my 6x6 V system kits. Only thing different with the V bodies is that you get a significant crop meaning that this crop MF sensor area doesn't cover the 6x6 projection, and you have to shoot basically manually or A priority and use E shutter in some models that don't have lens to digital back communication, from what I understand. Manny, I highly suggest to one day treat yourself to shooting a V series to feel and hear that power, It is something special to experience as a portrait photographer... then try the digital back and see what you think.

Food for thought. I don't like looking at a rear screen when photographing. To me it's an awkward position and I have to stop and put on my glasses to compose the image. I prefer looking through a viewfinder. I was a wedding photographer for many years and used Hasselblads with a viewfinder (meter prisms) so it's what I'm used to.

Beautiful camera but with a very annoying system for aperture/shutter control and w/o ibis is going to need high shutter speeds to have great photos! Ergonomically from my side of view it has a lot of flaws but what intrigues me is that you can use it with the legend film cameras and use the lenses from back then with a digital back in a beautiful aesthetic way and have amazing results! X2D from the other hand is a much more ergonomically with today standards easy to use camera but w/o the aesthetics of 907x... in the end it depends how much are you willing to pay for it!

Hasselblat don't deserve the ridiculous leniency, the veneration everybody submits to. If Sony and Canon 'wanted' to ventur into the (real!) Medium format, or even merely copy them, they would outperform Hasselblad in a hertbeat. The other way hardly at all. They don't deserve the total absence of REAL critique (plenty!). The "it's a different concept" doesn't hold at all ! (Same at Leica) No IBIS, no decent eye-af, no tilting vertical flipping monitor, ..if it was a canon, nikon, sony, we rightly so would bash them hard.
