Been going to Jonnys for years, its unreal. My favorite pizza ive ever tried. Very crispy, tangy sauce, bitter undercarriage and the dough is very fermented, it gives a really full flavor. They also use a mix of hard and shredded cheese which blends into the light layer of sauce, it makes it so satisfying

Yeah, this is a local favorite. I try to avoid going because I always order two pies and I wind up eating a whole one by the time I get home. I will eat most of the second pie within 15 minutes after that. The ONLY reason I don't finish the second one is because someone in the house wants a slice or two. I need to order at least three pies to satisfy myself and have some left over for whoever. They have 30 minutes otherwise it's all mine.

I grew up in Mount Vernon New York and was weaned on Johnnie's pizza. Started eating at their first location which burnt down and then followed them to the next location. This was in the 1960's---1970's until we moved. Mount Vernon had some of the best Italian restaurants and this included Arthur Avenue in the Bronx. To this day the best Veal Parmigian that I have ever had was a 6 table hole in the wall restaurant right across the street from Johnnie's second location. Every Friday night this was our family spot.
