Those old Omegas were so much classier than the ones today.

Nice video! The 2849 Lugs have a deeper indentation in comparison to the 2922! As omega archives at Bienne are incomplete, I had issues with omega service. Centre back in 1986 claiming that the 2922 was a Frankenwatch built in somebody’s workshop from left over Omega parts! Glad you have come across same watch ! I would hate to contact .omega service centre for information nowadays as you are lucky to get any answer! Thanks for sharing !

Thank you for the comment. Unfortunately, whoever Omega hired in their vintage department is not a specialist at what they do. That’s why I am creating these educational videos. :)

Just the perfect size for a dress watch, todays offerings have blown out of all proportion, even Omega now have a ladies range of Speedmasters at 38mm. There must be some hulking big ladies out there.

I love your videos. So insightful. I'm looking for the one seamaster for my collection. And running into this video inspired me for the 2922. If you were me and only could have one seamaster which would it be? Could you maybe let me know what your top 3 or 4 would be? And what kind of money would I expect to pay for one in good condition. If I can find one of your 3 or 4, I would like to send it to you to restore it for me. It would be the best watch in my collection. I've seen many seamasters on e-bay, so maybe I will find one to be the king of my collection. Hope to hear from you. Thanks

Thank you for watching. There are too many choices when it comes to a Seamaster watch. It comes down to personal preferences. I would recommend one from the 1950s or 1960s. But you'll need to make sure the watch is all original and in good working order. You can always visit my website to view all the available pieces. You can narrow down to 3-4 of your favourites and let me know. I can assist you with the best choice to go with. But make sure you are serious about the purchase. Sadly some people will use me to assist them and then purchase from somewhere else. In that case, I would recommend you create a question on the Omega Forums and several specialists there can assist you. :-)

@TimelessHistoryChannel thanks for the fast response. My goal is to find, and buy a used original one that's higher in value, and have it restored. Just need to know what it will cost for the restore. Are you interested in restoring one for me? And what are the costs for that?
@TimelessHistoryChannel6 ай бұрын
@@tracymcknight8978 Unfortunately, due to my busy schedule I no longer accept customer repair. I only service the watches that I sell or sold. My cost under my special warranty is $100 plus shipping after the one-year warranty has expired.

If you’re looking to get rid of the sold pieces, use the filter option to the left and drag that price from $0 to $1+ and that will remove all sold pieces.

I love watching these videos. I have my Dad's Omega Seamaster (1959-1962, model 2975, all steel, caliber 28SC, new caliber 501w/ 20 jewels), but haven't been able to find anyone willing or able to repair it. I even contacted the Omega Company and they told me the watch was just too old, so they wouldn't touch it. It runs, but the winding stem was pulled out of the case. I would like to have Dad's old watch cleaned and repaired. Can anyone help me find someone willing to repair the watch? No Omega watch should be wasting away in storage box.
@TimelessHistoryChannel2 жыл бұрын
I've made a video on the 2975 case model as well. Very nice piece. I don't think Omega will take in too many vintage watches for repair or the vintage watch market will continue to rocket. You can always try asking on the Omega forum. I am sure someone there will be able to refer you to a reliable watchmaker.

In 1982, I saw, liked, and bought for the first my very own watch from an uncle who said it's a solid 18karat wristwatch with leather strap (Omega, easily readable selected crocodile, #s). I wore every now and then and stopped wearing it in 1992. I found it a few days ago and out of curiosity I wore it for a day and wow, it's still working!! I wonder if it's authentic though because nowhere does it say where it's made(Swiss Made??). On the dial, Omega's symbol, below it the word OMEGA, and below that automatic. And further down is the word Seamaster and that's it. On the screw caseback, also in gold, are SEAMASTER, figure of seahorse, and WATERPROOF. Should I get it checked or is it a fake??? Thank you.

On some of them (mine) the Swiss made under the 6 is seriously tiny and very hard to see. Double check with a magnifying glass. Im probably wrong but double check anyway.

I miss your videos ! We need more educational videos from the Omega Enthusiast to be a smart collector. The sound and the picture in this video seem to be of higher definition. Maybe be you use a new camera ? I prefer the first generation of Seamaster Calender with bumper automatic because of the calender frame at 6 o'clock. The dial is then more balanced.
