How frequently should I 1rep max in order to keep those numbers remain relevant to my training percentages? every month, two months, three months? Please respond.

I believe you retest the one rep max on the main lifts every two months. There’s a great article on the Westside barbell site talking about this.

Can’t see how you could hate a man that has done it all and teaches us all how to be great through precision knowledge
@andrewsmith5512
@andrewsmith5512 2 жыл бұрын
I think the hate comes from his Patreon being a bit of a scam and not really having much exclusive content. I can tell you that I was not pleased with his $120 powerlifting ebook I bought from him. Mostly his life story and old personal training logs with no context used as filler content. There is literally no information in that book that I haven’t already heard about him talk about more extensively in interviews. The thing about it that pisses me off the most is that he actually is a really smart guy that could easily of put out an ebook that would be worth that kind of money to me but he didn’t. Seemed more like a half assed cash grab than something he actually put any effort into. I want to like Wenning and still learn as much as I can from the stuff he puts out and all his interviews because I think he is a great resource of knowledge and one of the worlds top strength coaches but he’s too concerned about money. If he didn’t put such a big paywall with all his knowledge he would probably be much more well known. He’s ebooks are really expensive and his most expensive one by far wasn’t even anything he has gone over in interviews even more extensively in interviews. I guess he saves all the good stuff for the more specific smaller ebooks. He really just tries to squeeze every dime he can out of you for his info and I think that’s a shortsighted way of doing business on his part.

What would Wenning replace the GHR and single leg PCD for a garage gymer with limited gear? I just have a rack, some Olympic dumbbells and a cable machine. Thanks for the content!
@yoeyyoey8937
@yoeyyoey8937 2 жыл бұрын
GHR you might be able to Gerry rig your rack and bench to safely support you, I’ve seen this done before you can probably look it up. The single leg stuff i think there is a cable version available you can find
@timammann
@timammann 2 жыл бұрын
How I do it at the gym is set up the smith machine all the way down, add a bunch of plates to the side, add a pussy pad in the middle and something soft for the knees on the ground. Then do Nordic curls on there. Perhaps at home you can do something similar, load up a barbell as low as you can with some weights and do Nordics like that. If the rack doesn't go that low, just use a bench instead of the ground. Hope that made sense and helped.

I have to put this out there. Like Ed Coan said, this mans goal is not to help others or educate people, this mans goal is to make money! That’s it. Once you joined Patreon he is the biggest di.. and unpolite af! Be cautious and don’t sign up on his Patreon, you get nothing more or exclusive content and he recycles his content also. I don't know anyone in the industry who behaves like this guy
@perman07
@perman07 2 жыл бұрын
It's also very obvious he's incredibly arrogant about his knowledge. His attitude seems to be "who are you to tell me anything? You're weak as shit, I've had multiple world records" as opposed to Dave's "we're all just bringing our best educated guess. No one actually knows" attitude.

I remember someone asking him what steak he was eating on an Instagram post, to which he replied with his patreon. Matt does not have “the key” to strength training and LoNgEvItY, rather he profits off of being dogmatic and fear-mongering. He is not open to new ideas that challenge his perception because he believes that his “thought process” trumps everything else.

@@monad40 the knees overtoes guy reaction is the perfect reflection of his attitude toward the industry. He doesn’t seem to understand that the human body is adaptable and applies his and only his mindset to that. Also speaking of followers check out his Instagram, man has over 300k followers, but look at his engagement. Plus I remember seeing him at 200k one day and immediately jumping to 300k the next day (wonder what that is😂😂).

@yoeyyoey8937
@yoeyyoey8937 2 жыл бұрын
Pete Rubish has said that you DONT want the bar to touch the shins on the way up, as the friction causes you to leak energy and force at the bottom portion of the lift, how would you respond to this? I imagine it has to do with the type of lifter, I personally tend to bruise my shins pretty good on my deadlift days and it seems to be working fine so far but then again I am by no means a pro or advanced lifter. Also obvi I’m talking conventional pulls
@nicholashammontree6653
@nicholashammontree6653 2 жыл бұрын
If you think of it from a biomechanics and physics stand point, the ideal would be to get the bar as close to the shin as possible without its progress being hindered by friction. Imagine the bar brushing along your leg hair lol

Elite FTS will delete your comments if you call him out. But yea, he is a total douche but I do like the idea of high rep circuits as a warmups. He got the concept from a rugbee team doing a study that showed it improved performance and stole it and packaged it as his own
