Cool to see such cut-and-dry answers. "Hips raised first? That usually means weak glutes." Might be cool to do a video for each of the core lifts explaining what happens with each weak point. Like, in the bench - go down the list of how weak lats/traps/pecs/shoulders/triceps present themselves. Could be a big help

I would move the finger over a little, dry the t-shirt a little longer, and when I drink water only tilt it to a 45 degree angle. This will add 50-63 pounds to any deadlift. His weakness is he tilts his water bottle to like a 61 degree angle, ok?

Biggest issue I feel on lighter weight is getting set up soo tight that you accidentally pull the weight off the floor before you mentally commit to the pull. It gets me a lot under 300lbs.

How would this compare to a good morning squat, where I've seen (and personally experienced) training quads helped correct this?
@radalexander71602 жыл бұрын
Hit up the patreon brother
@wilsonram392 жыл бұрын
If you're talking about a form breakdown in the Squat where the hips shoot up first and the Squat ends up looking like a Good Morning, I'd say that one is due to weakness in the Quads. Squat is a more Quad dominant movement; you're going through a greater amount of flexion/extension there than in a Sumo Deadlift. In my experience, the hips shoot up in a Squat because the Quads are struggling to extend with the weight leveraged against them in good form, so the hips shoot up *without* the upper back because its mechanically easier on the Quads...though it makes it that much tougher on the low back. For Sumo Deadlifts, the Quads aren't under nearly as much stress as they are in the Squat; just look at the bend in the knees and how that compares to a Squat. As such, if he drives up and his hips shoot up first, it's because his back/ posterior chain is lagging relative to the quad strength. The quads are able to pull through the movement quicker than the rest. That's my take on it, hopefully it's helpful. TLDR; when hips shoot up in Squat, it's because the Quads can't handle the weight leveraged against them. When they shoot up in DL where the quads are in a much stronger position, it's because the back/posterior chain is struggling more.

speaking of deadlifts I’ve seen it twice but I can’t find it anymore does anybody know what competition they had the leverage Deadlift? it was a straight bar that had the weight at one end and multiple handles that the competitor was going from the beginning of where the weight was to farther along the bar making it harder and harder?

@mossoconnor44172 жыл бұрын
Seems like sometimes Wenning over coaches and reads a little extra into certain little bobbles here and there. The 5 plate pull looked just like Cailer Woolam, and a lot of top sumo guys who are pulling explosively. It’s not that they aren’t taking the slack out, and it doesn’t seem to hurt their top end strength. For some guys being smooth isn’t helpful. Popping the bar hard at the start can get the flex off the floor to get the hips open and close to the bar, but can also catch you with the reverb of the whip.
@Emilvn962 жыл бұрын
Well it might work for them, but they might also all end up getting hurt over and over again like Cailer. Matt Wenning is usually all about longevity, not getting hurt by using perfect technique.
