Exactly! Having Patients is a must for much of yesteryear music. It is rewarded though.....and the buildup is important.

As others have said, you need to patient with Pink Floyd. It makes the reward so worth it.
@cornfedjuggalo Жыл бұрын
Patience is always rewarded with Pink Floyd, and music in general....In my opinion anyhow....Pigs have been a part of their live shows since at least the mid-70's and especially after their 1977 album "Animals" which celebrated its birthday yesterday January 21st....Where ever life finds you I hope it finds you and those that you love safe and well....AHIMSA!!!!

Dunno if you caught it or not, but about the 4:40 mark, were the only lyrics in the song. "One of these days, I'm going to cut you into little pieces"....
@RogerM9 Жыл бұрын
The words were spoken by Nick Mason (the drummer), the only time I believe that he appeared vocally on any PF track.
@jfn2462 Жыл бұрын
@@RogerM9 Did not know that. Thanks! Dude sounds pretty scary for sure. Most people listening to the song don't even catch that part and they think it's simply an instrumental.

This track was released in 1971, it's travelled well hasn't it! The pigs are a nod to the Animals album. There are no tracks from Animals on Pulse, but David wanted to have them in the show (probably to annoy Roger haha) Congrats on getting past the 1k milestone. Suggest you review Sorrow and Run Like Hell from the Pulse tour soon- that will keep your numbers climbing and your existing subscribers happy too! good luck to you mate
@deanadewall8400 Жыл бұрын
Gilmour did do it to annoy Waters. He said when he and Waters were hammering out the deal for PF rights, etc., Roger wanted and got exclusive rights to the pig (which was a sow). So, of course David started using not only a boar, but 2 of them in their shows lol.

Pink Pig was an inflatable flown over Battersea Power Station in the UK for the Animals album cover. However, when Roger Waters and Dave Gilmour began the "big fight" Roger claimed copyright to the Pig! So Dave as Pink Floyd (without Roger) used a Boar with huge Testicles! I think you can understand the message being sent! 🤣

Guy Pratt did his best David Gilmour impersonation, and drove the song. His bass work is phenomenal. David Gilmour on a steel guitar is incredibly unfair. He is ready a living God on guitar. This is almost overkill.... Almost😊. They could have made an album of nothing but instrumentals and they would have gone septuple platinum.

forgot: at the end, the pigs were push out of the towers, represent as one of 2 things in the concerts .first music critics said that P.F. will sell their music when "pigs can fly" second. Disco Ball is an FU to the critics who said they won't sell because they don't play 4 minute dance songs. Dah This music you have to sit and listen to. " Patience" " Run Like Hell" is the best one for a tease and the only one people stood up too.

you should have played the one from David Gilmour "2016 Live at Pompeii" which he played there in 1972. Starts with an instrument i have never seen. The only person to play at the Amphitheatre TWICE since 79 AD. Not A half a million dollar( 1994 dollars)no 200,000 watts of power production but just as good.

But dude, you really really really need to do "Echoes" (Part 1) live at Pompeii 1972 😉 The story of all life on the entire planet and how we should be better human beings, done with minimal lyrics, maximum funk and Pink Floyd genius!
