Nah Taka is probably the best singer I’ve heard live. It’s crazy.

Yes, that performance is live. I've been to two ONE OK ROCK concerts in the US and I can tell you that they sound amazing live, even in a small venue. You should check out their live performances of We Are and Renegades, both which are on KZbin.

These are some of my recommendations of OOR LIVE performances: - We Are (Ambitions 2018) - Stand Out Fit In (orchestra 2018) - I Was King (orchestra 2018) Heartwarming ballad - Wherever You Are (ambitions 2017) Heavy stuff with crazy explosive energy🔥 - Deeper Deeper (Yokohama stadium 2014) - Mighty Long Fall (Yokohama stadium 2014) - One by One (Saitama Super Arena 2015) Waiting for more ONE OK ROCK, thank you!!

Fyi, the long silence in the beginning and later of the performance are to hounour Chester Bannington. They had scheduled to perform together some weeks after this concert but soon heard of Chester's death. Chester had a big influence on Taka, which made him even more emotional as Taka's dream of performing on the same stage with his bias broke right before it could come true. You can hear there's a moment at the beginning which he almost cried (or he actually did)

He sounds like that live. I’ve followed them for years, Taka is an incredible vocalist and arguably one of the best band frontmen of recent history. Every member is wildly talented. It’s worth mentioning as well that in this particular performance he was sick and having trouble with his throat. The silence is said to be in honour of Chester from Linkin Park who had passed recently, Taka was mates with him and they took a lot of inspiration from LP.

I guess the best way to see his voice live, unfiltered, would be a fancam. There is a fancam of their song “Your Tears are Mine” in Madison Square Gardens (NYC). They were an opener for Muse and there isn’t a lot of instrumentals in this song. Glad you like them. They’re a Japanese rock band. Their lead singer, Taka, lives in LA and crazily enough has weird connections. Ranging from Ed Sheeran, Machine Gun Kelly, and Benny Blanco (to name a few). They’re working on becoming more known internationally 🤞🏻🤞🏻

The original version of this song was written by OOR and 5 seconds of summer. The recording version is definitely more upbeat. Taka's parents did go through a divorce. They are very public people in the music industry in Japan. This concert was in 2018 shortly after the untimely death of Chester Bennington, who was good friends with taka and OOR. They were planning on touring together. Its been said that the long silence was in honor of Chester. At the end, he thanks the audience for the given respect allowed. They have been together since 2005 so like 18 years. The two members that were friends before the creation of the band were Toru guitar and Ryota base. They were originally a 5 member band but they quickly realized realized who will stay. The rasp in Taka's voice that's not usually there was due to him not feeling well that day, yet it made the song so much more emotional. Frankly, kudos to him for performing the full 2h+ show while feeling unwell, without making it feel like it was in any way inferior to their other live performances when everyone was in tiptop condition. They were supposed to tour with Linkin Park, but Chester's sudden death prevented that from happening. I heard that this concert is a memorial concert for Chester and the long silence in the song is a prayer for Chester.

Welcome to your new life after discovering Taka's unbelievable vocals lol. Their live performance is better than their studio stuff, which you know is when an artist is incredibly talented. They're from Japan with a giant following.

For their heavier stuff, you should definitely check out " make it out alive" live performance. It's in the top 5 of my favorite performances of One Ok Rock. You should also check out "mighty long fall", "wherever you are" and "ending story" live performances

Did you say Taka's voice over Justin ?? Did I heard it right ?? If it is, as a fan of Justin for over a decade, I can say that, Taka's vocal is far way better than Justin, technically and the color of it. Also, this is live. This may have some post production but I can still guarantee you that that man's voice is incredibly great live. Already watched almost all their DVD concerts and some fancams from their concerts and his vocals is really that something. Hoping for more OOR reaction :)

I'm so psyched you reacted to this song, I just knew you'd love Takahiro's voice even more. I recommend ONE OK ROCK - Renegades (Piano) Japanese Version [OFFICIAL VIDEO] because it shows off the the lead singer's voice. Also, I think you'd enjoy 18祭】ONE OK ROCK 『We are』| 18Fes | NHK, it's a very moving video because the band performs it live with 1,000 18 year olds.

yup, it's live. Been to their concert, he sounds exactly like this. He actually sounds better live than on record, because in the studio versions of the songs I feel like his is intentionally muffled by the sound engineers. In live concerts, he literally shines.
