this is too coincidental and funny! i have been recreating my own diy version of this palette for weeks now because i unfortunately can’t purchase this full price and it has been fun to play and make my own but man am i drooling over yours!!! 🤤😍🥰

I love my Art Toolkit palettes and how compact they are.The mixing space on the lid doesn’t work well for me, so I bought an additional pocket palette and put some of their mixing palettes in it to give me a few “deeper” wells for mixing and that works for what I need. I like the idea of having gouache and watercolour in the same palette; I have them in separate palettes now, and might try to move some around to create a combined palette for travel. Love having everything in one for travel but like having them separate for home 😊.

Haha… later in your video, you mentioned exactly what I said above! It is very handy to have a dedicated mixing palette. I’m in Canada so they’re a bit more expensive than in the US, but still far cheaper than what you would pay in Europe, I expect!

Thanks for sharing! Turns out, thanks to a lovely viewer that there are a couple of European shops carrying these, so I'll definitely order one for mixing!

Adding a little watercolour blending medium or vegetable glycerin to the gouache helps it not crumble. Also, not all gouache brands dry the same. The Daniel Smith gouache rewets amazingly and doesn't crumble, but it's hella expensive so... glycerin helps with other brands.

Someone at Creativation showed that Mungyo is coming out with a magnetic palette that looks just like these.

Gouache when you’re drying it out while it still wet, add binder to it or some gum Arabic and it will help prevent cracking and falling out of the tin

Hullo Irit, I have set some cheap gouache aside for just in case I have need of it and I have older tubes from a job I took several years ago. I have that hate or out up with it relationship with gouache! Silly I know but I am glad you like it and I am enjoying watching your videos and I might just be convinced to use it again without hate in my heart! I read this and have no idea why I am leaving this comment! Well I am glad your working and happy! See ya next time.

Hello Irit. I agree that the Art Toolkit is a fantastic tool ❤. I put together a watercolour palette (in the palette you used to stock in your store) the other day…. Stood back and looked at it and realised I had all medium pigments! I need to revisit and add light and darks. What a Wally I am! Take care

This timely video came out just as I was waiting for my own Art Toolkit palette to arrive; now I wish I'd ordered the larger one, LOL. I'm curious now that it's more than a week later; have you used it and how are you finding it? I also wanted to mention I just read an article on Jackson's blog by Frances Ives, who mixes some gum arabic into her gouache to make them less crumbly in a travel palette.

Hi! I haven't heavily used it but here are some of my observations. I think for me the tiny pans might be too tiny. I may just use the larger ones. I do love the size, for me, a lover of colour, this is a great option and even carrying two of these would not be such a hassle. I've had several people write me that tip and I definitely need to try it! Thanks for sharing and enjoy your palette 🎨😀
