The Art Toolkit palette has become my favorite too I think. For now it’s mostly WN, with one DS (Lavender). I arrange the colours similar to the Quiller palette setup - in a ‘circle’, ie the pure colours around the outside in spectrum order, and then just put the earths/neutrals in the centre. That way I don’t have to think ‘what colour is this?’, but know green is opposite red, etc. Laughed at “Could we all just…” - yes, yes we can! 😁

Thanks for sharing!! That's genius! Might have to play around 🤔😁 do you have watercolor or gouache in yours?

@@iritlandgraf HaHa! I'll take it! Though setting up in a 'wheel' formation limits the variety of colours you can have before it becomes unworkable. I do it because I want to focus on colour mixing my neutrals. So far I only have watercolour - though I'm tempted to try gouache! 🙂🌺

If you want some more body and opacity to your work I found adding a few gouache (especially white and other lights) works well!

Last 2 Gouache purchased: Holbein ice green & light red bright. My other few gouache are pastel colors from Turner. One Winsor Newton nice formulation from the tube. I’m looking at Daniel Smith to try theirs. Watercolor I’m following into Naples Yellow red tint & French Ultramarine from Rembrandt. Thanks Irit, I will wish you a safe & enjoyable trip to the states. May there be lovely colors in nature & in fall decorations 🌻💕🎨🖌️

I typically don't have issues with Holbein, but then I use it more fresh out of the tube than in the palette. I only tried one color in a palette and that was Opera, but it dried rock hard. I'm excited to see what you eventually think of Daniel Smith. I haven't tried it yet tho I've heard good things about it.

Hullo Irit, I do enjoy watching/listening to your videos! I am reminded of a client that I was working with some 30+ years ago. They wanted a very bright pink more of a fluorescent pink! They simply would not accept that the color would not last and was not accepting the temporary nature of their color choices! The lady that I was working for at the time insisted that the client sign a release accepting the quality of the delivered brochures and not given a guarantee for lasting quality of the colors! I don’t know how long they did last, but I told them to keep them in a dark drawer and pull them out only as they were needed. I am wondering if you have thought about using a display or monitor for displaying your bright artworks? I just don’t believe that the bright colors you use will last in any form in an original artwork. I set up a LCD Panel for an artist to show her art and she did sell a couple of “paintings” using the frame of the monitor for permanent display. Flat panels have come a very long way and are much cheaper too! If I remember correctly she sold the painting for $2500.00 and that included the painting, monitor, mini computer to run it all! I honestly don’t know if they made any money on it. I did give my labor for free as I was interested in seeing if it could be done! They paid for all the equipment and I did photograph the art. I once thought about projecting my paintings. Paint a smaller 8x10 or 9x12 project it up to 10 feet across a wall! I got a mural job reproducing my picture on the side of a barn! A much harder job than I thought at the time! I hope you have a lovely trip and paint plenty of inspirational ideas and take a lot of video too!

For the Opera Gouache in a dried form: Holbein Opera Gouache I can’t not use in this form. But the Daniel Smith Opera and the two Winsor and Newton Opera Gouaches (Opera Pink and Opera Rose) not a Problem. I can use them in dry form without any Problems. Hope it helps for the other Opera fans like me😅

Hi from Australia! The W&N Pale Rose Blush in your palette, I have googled and can only find it in oil paint. What is yours please? Love these swatching videos best! Thank you for your lovely work!

Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed! It's gouache and pretty widely available in Europe, hope you can find it in Australia too! If not you may want to try Jaune Brilliant #2 in gouache from other brands. It's not identical but has the same vibe, hope that helps!
