Nami was in a role of power when she was caught by Kaya. Nami knew that Kaya was sick and dependent on her servants to help her. So when Nami was caught red handed, she was still in a position of power and didnt need to fear Kaya in any capacity. There was no need for Nami to not feel in control during their conversation. However, Kaya was very humble and managed to bring Nami down a peg and get her to remove her hardened outter shell.

I feel like a lot of people discount Usopp's backstory, probably because he is typically comic relief. And not to say that anyone else's backstory isn't tragic, it's just that Usopp's hits on different level for how realistic it is. A kid with a parental figure thats not around but still looks up to regardless while taking care of his other sick parent. Tears man, tears
@Kanriel

Usopp has always been the character most grounded in reality. Most readers of the manga would be absolutely terrified if they were in the manga itself and seeing the scary animals and people that Usopp does. I think the live action has done well with the character, but not sure it's been able to really connect with watchers in that manner yet.

I think Kaya's reaction is mainly coming from the fact that she already knew they were pirates. It's like you get introduced to someone who is a kleptomaniac. You invite the person to stay the night at your house and then you find them stealing stuff in the middle of the night. You'd probably be like: "Guess that was expected?" +She is trusting them because Usopp said they are friends.

Something really important to understand about the One Piece World is that anyone can become a Superhuman just be training... Kuro moving really fast is just an example... In this World a normal human can become as strong as Spider-Man or even Hulk just through training really hard, without the need of a Devil fruit.

As a longtime fan of “One Piece” and I am amazed how this live-action adaptation delivered so brilliantly! Also the part when Buggy the Clown meets Arlong, super unexpected as it didn’t happen in the original manga. It’s such a great idea! I really love this animalistic version of Arlong because he shows his beastly self a lot especially with lots of snarls and growls. The actor who played the evil Shark Man did a phenomenal job! Plus him forming a villainous team-up with Buggy? Brilliant! 💯

Because Kaya is naturally a kind person that is why Kaya let Nami have her ego. Also, Kaya knows that Nami could easily knock her out, if she calls for help. On the other hand, the crew's ultimate goal is to steal/get one of Kaya's ships. That is also why Nami did not easily resort to violence.
@yannym4605
@yannym4605 Жыл бұрын
I mean, even if she was caught red-handed, Nami still had all the power in that situation. Kaya is sickly, and Nami doesn't care if Kaya sees her as a thief. The second Nami decided she was going to steal the ship, she knew that everyone would know that she was involved in the theft.

It's so fascinating watching people entirely unfamiliar with the story, enjoying the story, or stories of One Piece. I got enamored with this universe as a kid, and it's fascinated me since then. I genuinely believe One Piece to be the single best piece of fiction in existence, and it just keeps getting better. What often happens with long running shonen series, is that they hit a wall, where it doesn't seem to get much better, and things start taking a weird turn, but somehow, One Piece has just continued improving on their already impressive storytelling and length. You really get pulled into this world that Oda has created. Even after watching this, it's entirely worth it to both read the manga and watch the anime, because they did change many elements in this stories, and have even improved parts of the anime that many believed to be a little weak. I really hope you continue to enjoy watching this show, because all the fans, and people unfamiliar with this franchise have really only parroted how amazing this show really is, and how it broke all expectations. There's still elements that sort of lack, which I won't go into, but you might not notice it, unless you have intimate knowledge about the original works, and it really works well as a show on its own. There's some weird elements of the cgi, but they really did amazing work. They really managed to capture the spirit of One Piece with this one, and I think it's already broken all records, becoming the number one show in most countries ever on Netflix.

Kaya’s reaction is very telling of her character. She has all this stuff she’s inherited, but she’s not particularly attached to any of it and she knows it’s going to waste on one person (see her reaction to Nami’s dress at dinner). She’d much rather have friends and she sees Nami. Like, perhaps a lot more than Nami would like her to see. That scene made sense to me. Kaya is a lot braver than people give her credit for. And there are many powers in this world, but our protagonists don’t know much about them so the audience doesn’t get an explanation either. It’ll come.

To answer Jaby's question, the abilities can be broadly categorized into 3. The first are natural abilities like the fishmen who are at home in the water. Then there are the devil fruits, which are unique in how they can be used and only one specific devil fruit user can exist at any one time (for example only one Gum Gum Fruit user can exist until the user perishes and the fruit reappears again in the world). Then there are physical abilities that can be used by everyone but has immeasurable potential.The strongest individuals are experts in these abilities.

About Nami’s reaction when she was busted by Kaya… I think her attitude is pretty fit to her personality. For some people when they know they are at fault, in stead of admit it and apologize (soften up), they would try to fight back, talk louder, make excuses, try to throw other people under the bus, etc. All of those to hide the fact that they are feeling guilty. So to me it doesnt feel odd that Nami was speaking to Kaya that way.

Ussop's name is a mix of "Uso" meaning: "lie" in Japanese and "Aesop".

Some people are just naturally ridiculously strong, some ate Devil Fruits, and some are just different species.

The girl's comments and questions are so on point. Either she already knows the series or she is that smart and genuine, i mean seeing her reaction to every plot point and asking the right questions is what makes these videos so great.

7:00 The game they play is called "Go". The goal is to surround more territory than your opponent. Black goes first, and white gets 5 and a half points to offset that advantage and to prevent a tie.

This world has a variety of different abilities people can learn or be born with that achieve what appear like superhuman powers/abilities. Devil Fruits are the most focused on due to the main character having eaten 1, but it’s far from the only way. Kuro for example has not eaten a DF. His speed is a skill he learned and refined.

I’m sure you guys are several episodes ahead, but having finished the show myself, (and having seen the anime) it does not explain that Kuro/Klahadore (the butler) is simply moving at speeds far faster than we’ve seen thus far, but it’s displayed almost like it’s a teleportation or quickstep type power. Kuro is just THAT MUCH faster than any of the Strawhats’ opponents so far. He does not have a devilfruit power. And just a quick note: There are TONS of Devil Fruits, that range from super useful, quirky, to nearly useless. Many pirate crews hunt for fruits to feed to their officers in order to build up their strength. However only 1 person can have a power at a given time, and they can only have 1 power.
