You may have missed it, but as they said in this episode - seawater is the weakness of those who ate a devil fruit: it takes away the power, physically weakens them, and theyre unable to swim. Shanks' power isnt 'controlling animals in the ocean' it's something youll find out about in the future

this is one thing i dislike about this live action series, they didnt emphasize on what the devil fruits are and how they function. they just lightly talk about it then moved on despite being one of the most important power system in this series. For first time watcher of one piece, it would be extremely hard for them to catch and understand devil fruit powers.

@@leeboonkang2 you're right but it is actually the real thing in ONE PIECE story line, all is MYSTERY, that's the Creator's thing , even us fans didn't know what actually the ONE PIECE!!??, just like what he did on LUFFY's devil fruit power is a surprise after thousands of Chapters creating references for every possible episodes like execution scene we see shanks, mihawk, smoker, and dragon. zoro's entrance we see him figthing MR7. BELLAMY, FOXY, CAVANDISH and DJANGO wanted Posters even the Revolutionary Army is mentioned when Kaya reading the the newspaper i see the RA logo. all of that is a glimpse of the future

@@leeboonkang2 Imagine if someone asked you "what's this show about?" and you answered them like you are reading a wiki page. That's overexposure, it snuffs people's interest very fast cuz it leaves no room for them to be curious about it. You don't want to give spoilers to the show when you're introducing it to new people. Oda knew what he was doing when he gave those a pass. Plus the girls forgetting about what Buggy said when Luffy was in the tank doesn't mean other new watchers will, too. Some people won't retain absolutely everything they've been told, that's inevitable. It's a good sign that they refused to lower the writing quality bar over that.

So the phone and the earphones are snails and are normally called "transponder snails". There are many different kinds with many different purposes, but they all have to do with communication. These snails have a natural ability to telepathically communicate with each other. And people have taken them in as pets because they are very docile and objects can be attached to them. 10:20 , this season , you gonna learn a little bit about devil fruit but maybe in season 2 you gonna learn way more , even some other kind of power. For those who ate a Devil Fruit, they can't never swim and their power down to zero with sea water (or....no spoil). Shanks used a power that will be explain way later , it's not a devil fruit's power.

Just an FYI. Devil Fruits are not the only way to have powers in the world of One Piece. Shanks for example does not have a DF. How he did what he did will hopefully be explained in a future season of the show. If the quality remains this high I’m sure we’ll get that far with this show to where it’s explained what that ability was.

I just finished watching the last episode Wednesday & loved the entire Season. I was concerned it would be difficult for Netflix to adapt 60 half hour anime episodes into just 8 hour long live action episodes, but this is definitely 1 of the best anime adaptations ever that does the manga & anime proud.

In the anime, yes. Its clear when he is in the water that he has no fruit. Here the boat Luffy and Higuma were on got destroyed by the lord of the coast and they were both thrown into the water. Shanks shows up on a boat, so it can be confusing for non readers or non anime watchers. 😊

The difference from the original manga/anime: 1) The one with the white fur ( 4:58 ) his name its Mohji the pet tamer and he have an giant green lion named Richie. 2) They didnt included the fight of Zoro vs Kabaji. 3) The fights in general was more focused in the middle of the city. 4) The story of the dog (you didnt included in the video but he appeared just when the camera was spotted on the mayor at 21:20 ) the name of the dog its Chouchou.

The fight scene in the bar in my opinion is better in the anime. Especially when they pull the gun on shanks. He has a bad ass line that guns are meant to be used so when pointing one be prepared to use it. Shanks is a goat his whole crew are a bunch of bad asses.

The Chouchou bit could've been pulling heartstrings 😢 even if its just Mohji there. I know the big lion is a daunting CGI task but Chouchou is the most basic storyline they could've done.

So he can't stretch, he can't walk, or do anything when going out of the water tank because seawater takes away all the strenght of a devil fruit user, it's not just that he can't swim, it litterally cancel devil fruit powers, make the user weak and yes the user can't swim because he will fall like an anchor onto the ocean's floor And he picked the hat and not the map for pretty obvious reasons I don't even know why you were so mad at that And seawater is the weakness for every devil fruit afaik And Buggy never killed Shanks, not to spoil anything but Shanks is WAY stronger than Buggy

Probably should check out the anime or something before the comment drones spoil you on the story. This is a pretty good adaptation, but there are a lot of differences. The anime has more detail, character development, and the story events and plots link together alot more fluently. Not to mention the original story is like 4x better. Don't get me wrong though, this is still good.

In one piece world every human beings have haki but only certain people can awaken it.. One flaw that Iñaki needs to learn about is that Luffy will never say "I'm a different kind of pirate" or "I'm a good pirate". He just says I'm a pirate and he leaves the people to judge him if he is really a different kind of pirate. Sad to say but why didn't Oda interrupted or even the writers to just change the script for Iñaki for the few lines correcting his dialogue. And Iñaki is a great actor I applaud him for translating Luffy in a live action setting but he could've researched a bit more about Luffy's character and core personality.

Iñaki is doing his job by saying the lines given by the script, there's nothing to learn there. Actors don't decide what the characters say, that's the job of the scriptwriters. And I'm sure that if Oda would have felt that it goes against Luffy's core characterisation, he would have intervened.
