Tolkien was an amazing world builder and I never thought anyone would surpass him... But Oda I believe did The One Piece world is the greatest fictional world of all time

I would say they are equal. I mean Tolkien was a linguist who created languages in his world, song, poems etc. Oda has a completely different style mostly because his story is about something different. Tolkien's story was mostly about the corruption of evil while Oda's is about freedom. Both worlds are perfect for both concepts. In the end, both are excellent examples of worldbuilding people should study in literature school

Although for me both authors are in different categories, i agree with your opinion, Nakama, thanks to them in the future I think there will be many great writers followers who will also be able to create masterpieces and will also go down in history, imagination is power :D

@@Lu_R Both told equally strong world's in very different mediums, It's hard to think of a world in Manga that will surpass One Piece, and on the same end very, very, very few worlds in novels are on the level of Tolkien.

@@develope3208 that's definitely part of that. When it comes to animation ATLA also have excellent world building that is driven by the message but OP middle earth and ATLA are all different yet equally masterful and I guess it depends on one's personal preference which they would like best

When you reach a specific point. Probably after marineford or even just before impel down, scryerman has to experience Strong world and episode 0. Edit: the mother's basement videos about one piece are pretty good. Also there was a channel with "explaining the geography of one piece"
