I really appreciate him. His parents are both Japanese and he grew up in Japan (yes, and Japan is the country where not many citizens are proficient in English, you would know if you live/travel there), but his English speaking is so good that he is fine in playing in the international shows and appearing in interviews. the actor for zoro is actually the most veteran out of the strawhats. mackenyu’s a super established actor in japan lol he’s super popular because he’s hot and good at acting. he’s also been in so many live action adaptations (chihayafuru, jojo’s bizarre adventure: diamond is unbreakable, rurouni kenshin, one piece, etc.) that this is basically just like second nature to him. he’s also already well-versed in martial arts because his dad, sonny chiba, is super, super famous in that field and he grew up doing both martial arts and sports with his younger brother gordon (hanzo in kill bill, plus he collaborated with tarantino in creating and choreographing the stunts and fight choreography in both volumes). among the cast, he’s the one that i never had any doubts on. loved him since he played arata in chihayafuru

Or with bellamy you just have to cgi his hands and feet for a few seconds while he is attacking and he will look the part. But with zoan its different. The whole body has to look good and authentic constantly. Whether they are talking or fighting etc... Thats why everybody was worried about the fishmen and chopper because they have to be constantly cgi. Even in the trailer the fishmen definitely is not bad but not great either.

The devil fruit abilities are really great; not too goofy, not too forced. The fishmen takes a while to sink in but they're actually pretty good. Yeah, the accent can throw you off every once in a while but that's accurate to the lore. I guess it's just that we're so used to the Japanese voices, that's why. But other than that, this series looks good to go. Overtime I'm sure they'll improve on things but right now, this looks promising. See y'all on August 31!

Bro, Oda has said that Luffy is intended to be the equivalent of Brazilian descent if he was in the real world, that's why the live-action casted a Hispanic actor and has the accent. The entire cast took inspiration from Oda's reimagining of the Strawhats' ethnicities which are Luffy (Brazilian/Hispanic), Nami (Swedish/White), Zoro (Japanese), Usopp (African/Black), Sanji (French/White). Hopefully we get Chopper (Canadian caribou/reindeer), Robin (Russian), Franky (American/cyborg), and Brook (Austrian).

Nami does wear reading glasses sometimes. All of the costumes the Straw Hats are wearing are taken from colored chapter covers or volume covers. They are canon. Shanks looks amazing! I really hope he says the "put your life on the line" line. For those of you who have never heard of Peter Gadiot who is playing Shanks, he was in Queen of the South. I highly recommend it. He is fantastic in it. And Buggy looks great too. The dude playing him was in Agents of S.H.I.E.LD. I don’t know who is playing Roger but he might as well be Johnny Depp. I think we see Bellemere. I think she is the female Marine in dark blue we see running at 26 seconds into the trailer. It looks like Arlong is at Buggy's big top and Baratie. I'm going to guess that he is tracking Nami and he catches up to them at Baratie. Nami saying “You’ll have the excuse them, they're idiots" is to Arlong and she is trying to spare their lives as she betrays them My only complaints are that I’m not sure if I'm a fan of Luffy naming the crew himself. He doesn’t think that far ahead. Unless they give him a line where he makes it clear he came up with it on the spot. The other thing that we are two trailers in and all Usopp has said “hit the deck”. It’s probably not on purpose but he’s a main character.

i think they made suble changes in luffy to make him more beliavable. bcs unlike mostly ppl think, he's actually intelligent, not in a academic/tradicional manner,but in a intuitive one. And his cleverness is shown mutiple times. Like that scene whem he saw a Wind Vane and some episodes after he show the Gomu Gomu no Kazaguruma. So i think there's no problem. Other line that i think show's this difference is the Zoro one. whem he goes to fight position and put a sword in his mouth and luffy was like "so that's where it goes". It's a visua way to show luffy can forseen his potential (and probably creativity, once this is probably his mostly fundamental quality).
