Re: Big Mom's antiracism, its very interesting in that we'll see that her nominal progressivism isn't necessarily a cover for her less than ideal behaviour (in that she believes in having people of all races live under her) but it embodies a really warped version of actual racial equity and tolerance that's very very conditional upon absolute obedience to her and a really unsettling, malicious form of authoritarianism that unequivocally harms all her denizens Also exploitation of the fishmen by demanding a tithe and threatening to fuck up the island if they don't have the resources to feed her addiction

"Amande" means "almond" in French and her epithet "Demon lady" is actually a pun: the word they use for "lady" when they address her sounds exactly the same as the one for "demon lady". Like the character of Resident Evil she reminds you of, Amande's design is inspired by onryō (Japanese vengeful spirits) and specifically by the urban legend Hachishaku-sama. So Pekoms doesn't need to explain his actions to the Vinsmokes and vice versa. - We see that even though Yonji doesn't really agree with Reiju's actions, he can't do anything about it and just goes along with it. As we will also see later, all the brothers seem to kind of respect Reiju and don't get in her way, even though nearly always they don't understand or disagree with her actions. But we don't really know if this is because of her status as the first born or because she is their older sister or even because they understand that she is the smartest of the lot (Imo there might even be some lingering affection because of her similarities with their mother but I will talk about it later when it will be safer to do so) 11:00 In the last filler arc I mentioned someone getting infatuated with Nami in this arc. It's like sucking the venom out of someone's wound when they're bitten by a snake (Don't do that, though! It's very dangerous!) or like CPR (again, there's nothing sexual about CPR!
