Brilliantly said by Oda himself. He’d rather fail being himself than to succeed being someone else. Bring it to the finish line!

and SPOILERS... . . . . . . . this makes fully sense in that Oda not only displays the concept of freedom in characters, plot, and themes explored in the story, but also in the aesthetics. i'm sure there is a connection in the concept of 'breaking away from japan nationalism' in Wano's border breaking future, and gear 5's reveal in wano and its westernized aesthetics (as opposed to traditional), a literal aesthetic manifestation of going outside the borders of Japan in an exercise of freedom (beyond incorporating in a pastiche various cultures and pop references around the world). various media have explored the acceptance of heterogeneity of and mass global cultural exchange and transfers and moving past xenophobia, but man Oda manifests it in the totality of the manga, from its story to its aesthetics. that grander schemes of freedom is manifested in the story, not only referencing stories of oppression and exploitation around the world, pero literally opening cultural borders of japan in celebrating mass global cultural exchange in a postmodern pastiche. a breakaway from the traditions and the norms of japan, of japans mainstream manga media-a true exercise of freedom

One piece is unapologitecally leftist it is amazing. Anti slavery, anti racism, anti bigotry, anti elitist, anti rich, anti colonialism, anti government, anti militerianism, anti propaganda, anti historical revisionism, anti genocide etc etc. The whole idea is about freedom and how unrestrictive freedom can create authoterians through might make right. There are few mixed messages about monarchy but that is the problem of the setting more or less.

You ain't spoiling anything, there's a reason one piece gets so much hate. Ain't nobody watching over 1000 episodes with little to no story progression. I liked one piece as a kid and then realized it's like the cocomelon of anime

What's funny is that Oda's actual art style is realism. You can find a lot of them if you google "eiichiro oda original artworks"

Easy to be best selling when you have over 1000 chapters. One piece was a good as a kid. Once you acrually become an anime fan and drop one piece you realise bow bad it is. Ive wayched one season shows and anime knock one piece out of the park

The most splimplest answer is … because it's totally trash , as an architect who studied the meaning of art it's so annoying art work from the scratch of designed characters, environment, storyline, coloring, etc all is trash . Storyline is so childish and idiotic compared to other successful works like Tokyo Ghoul, Bleach, Naruto, Attack on titans , and there are more , and what I meant is there is no basic for story just eat a fruit and here we go , then let's put alot of unnecessary items chrachters side storylines you will forget or main story not effeced by it , so in my work field we say it's without meaning or lost the main concept. Chrachter design is the worest to see , alot of missing drawing ratio between a chrachter and his rival or enemy like you are fighting a whole building! Second issue for chrachter design and it effects it badly is the choose of coloring and movements alot of flashing effect and so childish moves makes eye confused what had happened in last 1 minute of the show , same goes for voice actors and I mean here they are awesomes in any other work except one piece and that back to : stupid conversations, stupid humorous, alot of aaaaaaah eeeeeeeh oooooh !!! Same goes for music, background design , etc etc . Sorry it's the truth totally shit art .

Only idiots with no taste dislike the art style. Oda's created so many cool and fun designs compared to most modern art styles that just draw bland designs

I really like One Piece art style, specially for the female characters like Hancock, Robin, Nami, etc. It's very original and different from anything else being made, it looks 70's inspired but it's original and quirkier at the same time

One piece has the worst character design of any very popular anime. Bro I was a big fan of one piece as a kid. AS A KID. I've never talked to someone who's fav anime was one piece who knew anything about anime at all.beserk is actual good manga art. True blue vortex character design and art makes one piece look like a kids show. I get you like one piece dude but I think it's time to pack your bags up and actually learn a thing or two about anime. Your statement is fuckin ridiculous man 😂😂😂 whack
