I really think this is the only stretch of story that you could make an argument for Zoro being stronger than Luffy. I personally don't think he ever was but sometimes I see the way Arlong reacts to Zoro's injuries and I start to rethink a little. Dude was putting in serious work with injuries that would've made a normal person bedridden for months. I think a healthy Zoro here almost certainly beats Arlong, and maybe even puts him down faster than Luffy did.

I think the other place this argument might hold weight is right after the time skip. Zoro doesn't get any real fights until Wano, granted these fights were with Enma. It's a weird gray area because Zoro is so hard to place until Wano.

Love the zoro placement. Really like seeing Convo about if he was stronger then Arlong. Lately I have been wondering how strong was a east blue Luffy. Like if he knew Crocodile weakness could he fight him at that point or did he get gradually stronger through his previous opponents. Good vid and placements 💯

I always assumed Luffy became stronger each arc, though it'd make sense if he only became stronger when legit beaten up or reached his limits (Don Krieg, Arlong, Crocodile multiple times, Lucci)

While I don't think Luffy got like physically stronger throughout the east blue saga, I think he learned a lot. Luffy starting his journey is physically insane, over 10x the average human's strength would be underselling him. But over the east blue, Luffy learns a lot through battle experience. He hasn't had anyone to fight at his level to really improve that. Zoro is pretty much the exact opposite. He is already battle hardened at his introduction, but as soon as he takes that first L, he immediately starts physically working out.

According to Oda's retcons of advance armament during Udon (turning the steel cutting ability Zoro uses into Ryou or what the samurai called Advanced haki), Zoro should have been able to cut Crocodile without the need for water right after beating Daz Bones.

Awesome video!! In my opinion, Gin and Heguma should be above in the top. For what we have seen. Jin could be the strongest official among pirates in the East Blue Saga. He defeated Sanji on a 1v1. I know Sanji was hurt by Pearl before but the same could be applied to his match against Kurobi and there is no doubt that Sanji demolished Kurobi out of the water. On the other hand, Heguma had a bounty of 8 millions (higher than Nyaban brothers, for example). Moreover, he was capable of escaping from Shanks by using a smoke bomb. I know that bounty isnt a synonym for strength or power, but at that point of the story I think that it was somehow.

Out of curiosity who do you actually think is stronger, Shanks or Mihawk? I personally think Mihawk because I consider Shanks to be a swordsman and Mihawk is Zoro’s goal and I don’t think that Oda would make Zoro’s goal redundant. I agreed with everything and look forward to seeing more parts!

It’s hard to say for now. If Shank’s main fighting style ends up being his sword, Mihawk should be stronger. If Shanks has other abilities we don’t know about yet he might be stronger.

Shanks is definitionally the stronger dude but you don’t become the ‘worlds strongest swordsman’ if another dude who uses a sword can beat you in a fight. Shanks could have twice as much raw haki output and potential and it wouldn’t actually affect anything - for whatever reason, Mihawk’s title says that he is always pulling the W in a fight.

I'd think shanks is stronger but the only reason I back this up is because shanks is one of the best haki users in one piece (hopefully you know what haki is, otherwise sorry for the spoiler) while mihawks is yet not proven, also at marineford mihawk says "I'll happily fight whitebeard(strongest man ever) but red hair is another matter entirely", so as much as mihawk is powerful you just have to keep in mind that shank's conquers haki could prob take mihawk down.

I am not gonna argue whom is stronger because it is pointless but I will counter both of your points real quick. You do not know for a fact that Shanks has one of the strongest haki in the series. I would honestly put my money on Fujitora having stronger haki than Shanks just purely based on feats. As for your next point, you cannot be 100% certain that Mihawk was scared of fighting Shanks at Marineford. Another interpretation of what Mihawk said could very well be that he doesn’t want to kill his friend.

One small plot hole calling arlong strong for the grand line is way to high don’t forget there are warlords there and I’d say masira one of the weaker grand line captains is stronger than arlong even cricket would probably out maneuver arlong

@@weeaboo-warrior here is a rough scaled down version of there feats and powers Cricket: cricket is the leader of the saruyama alliance he is a skilled martial artist and managed to go from the north blue to the new world and then paradise his bounty is 25.000.000 Masira: masira is the captain of the masira pirates and one of the two co captains of the saruyama alliance he could one shot a huge eel (bigger and most likely stronger than momoo) while underwater he has incredible lung power and capacity as he salvage a whole ship using his breath he also came from the north blue to the new world and then paradise somewhere before reaching Jaya he met up with his sworn brother Shoujou Shoujou: Shoujou is captain of the Shoujou pirates and one of the 2 co captains of the saruyama alliance in physical power he is akin to masira since they regularly spar with only brute strength but Shoujou’s trump card is his sonar powers he can locate objects using echolocation sound waves and destroy ships and solid earth with his havoc sonar he can further increase these powers range and damage with a microphone his bounty is also the highest being 36.000.000 he came from the west blue then through the new world and then to paradise somewhere before he arrived at Jaya he met his sworn brother masira I’ll go more into detail after the alabasta video

I feel like you are underrating Higuma on this list. Sure he gets dealt with quite easily by shanks but we should note that in a world of pirates who travel the seas of the world Higuma is a mountain bandit and his influence only covers a singular island in the story. Still he has a relatively high bounty on east blue standards and is easily higher on my list than let's say alvida. If he met Luffy in the main story line I suppose he could have presented as much challenge as many of the other antagonists of east blue.

He could be higher, but bounty isn't a direct indication of strength. He might have had such a high bounty due to all of the people he murdered.

yeah that's a really OP ability. she could definitely be higher, it's just hard to say for now. there is ways she could be defeated without directly trying to strike her, for example poison gas, a giant explosion, Chu's big water spitting attack, ect.

Buggy was able to dodge and take multiple blows from Luffy, so I think he would do the same to Gin and then stab him from behind. If the Luffy Buggy fought was significantly weaker than the one that fought Krieg, I could definitely see Gin being above Buggy.

@@weeaboo-warrior The main reason is because Sanji stated the kicks that he tanked daily from Zeff were 10x stronger than Kurobi’s punches. Kurobi’s inferior, Hachi was stated to be able to destroy Arlong Park with mere wind pressure. A fully healthy Sanji would definitely be able to take blows from Arlong and his kicking AP being comparable to Gum Gum pistols is a massive feat. Because the kicks that were comparable were unamed kicks. As you know, Sanji’s named kicks(Kick Course) have far more power. His collier strike, flanchet, tendron, and his strongest move at this time, mouton shot. Furthermore, Sanji’s speed increases when he does these combos as Kurobi couldn’t react at all. A healthy Zoro’s best feats are beating Kuro’s Sub-Fishman underlings. Arlong seeing Zoro’s scar doesn’t mean a healthy Zoro would win. As it’s Zoro’s raw endurance that frightened him as he was afraid that if he grew stronger with this level of endurance he could be a problem in the future. Also, Arlong calling them both weaklings isn’t a defeater either. As he said the same to Luffy multiple times even after Luffy no-diffed Momo with his brand new named attack and when Luffy attacked him with named attacks. Arlong is extremely arrogant, almost at the point of denial due to his hatred of the human race. Looking at Sanji and Zoro’s feats, Sanji has better physical striking and speed while Zoro has better lifting, and endurance. They’re on the same level, with Zoro edging due to slightly better AP. Luffy and Arlong are the ones that make a sizable gap.

Skipped to the end and now I’m gonna comment. Since I didn’t watch the whole video I won’t talk about the ones I only slightly disagree with but the 2 I’m 100% sure are straight up wrong are Tashigi and Gin. Tashigi is a trained marine and Smoker’s right hand on the island in the east blue that gets the most pirate traffic she is at bare minimum high east blue probably low grand line. And Gin beat Sanji in a fight so he should at least be around Sanji’s level.

Tashigi has no feats to put her higher during the East Blue saga. Gin was fighting an injured Sanji, which is why he did so well. Gin has to be a tier below Krieg, so if anything, Sanji would just have to be downscaled. Gin can't be upscaled except to higher in the tier he is in.

I just can't stomach coby strength change, unlike luffy he doesn't have that god fruit, fighting to death against bosses, garp/dragon/will of d bloodline. He just punches a ship yet could solo east blue and above easily now after 2 years when 90 percent of his life he's been a pure weakling, lowest of the low on a 5 million berry ship.

I just have one little nitpick: a little known fact, is that despite Zoro fights Hachi, it's actually Kuroobi who is Arlong's first mate. Oda said so himself a couple times. It actually makes sense if you look, since Kuroobi is acting more like a first mate than both Chew and Hachi: testing Nami's alliegance, for example.

It does? Mine states Hachi is "one of Arlong's Commanders", although I have the official Spanish (European) version. I don't know what the original manga states in Japanese, but I'm quite sure that it is never stated who is the "first mate", at least in the Spanish version. I also know that in the official English character guide "One Piece, Red, Grand Characters" Oda lists the bounties of Arlong's Commanders as this: -Chuu: 7 million berries -Hachi: 8 million berries -Kuroobi: 9 million berries. But if you say that one version calls Hachi first mate, I guess it complicates matters. Sadly, I can't read japanese
