Why dont you just leave the pumpkin skin :)?
@katharinebaxter46624 жыл бұрын
Top tip for ultimate laziness :) leave the apple skins on! You can just put some lemon juice on the apples with the sugar and pop in the oven for 5 minutes before adding the crumble on top xx

I live in the united states. Do you have any vegan sausage recommendations similar to what you used in the video?
@erxmerx69154 жыл бұрын
You really don't have to peel the pumpkin skin. It doesn't make that much of a difference when it's cooked.

Loved all the recipes, next time just try to use a veggie peeler for the pumpkin it is surprisingly easy. I learned it the hard way 😂

I'm at 14:48 in this video and just wanted to say that (not only do the recipes look great) the editing is wonderful. I love the jokes, the little edits for the carrot saying bye, the comments about being lazy and your hair in the food. You seem relaxed and it appears that Alex (or the editor) had fun editing the video. I hope this style stays ❤

I absolutely love your video style in your home kitchen! No need for a studio kitchen or fancy appliances. I think it helps build the confidence of your viewers. I think to myself, "I can make that too!" Way more accessible to the average home cook ❤

Just made the sausage veggie bake and man!! It truly was Christmas in a pan. We replaced the parsnips with a russet potato and managed to find apple flavored sausages and oh my god. The magic that was in this dish is indescribable. Our apartment smells of the holidays. We will keep making this for years to come! Sage+garlic+onion+paprika+cinnamon+ salt+pepper equals the taste of coming HOME.

A winter squash prep “hack” that I use is microwaving it for a minute before peeling and chopping. It softens it (but doesn’t cook it), and makes chopping so much easier.

I usually shy away from commenting on videos for some reason, but just wanted to put it out there that I really enjoyed how much you let loose in this video with the commentary and the editing, and how you seem to be opening up and being more "yourself" on instagram and youtube. I've been watching your videos for a few years now and have always enjoyed them, but I do have to point out that this is one of the happiest you've seemed in a video in a long while and it made me smile several times. Your journey to self-love and happiness is inspiring! Can't wait for more!

Hi Maddie! To thicken stews I've noticed you used some flour directly into the pot, which is fine, but might create little flour lumps. If I may offer you a tip, try mixing a little water/stock/milk (about 2-3 tbsp) in a bowl with flour, until you get a thick batter, then pour that in the pot and it works a lot better! Lovely video, as always xx
@antoniakohler91174 жыл бұрын
If you mix it with equal parts melted fat like butter it melts right in too!
@monikabronowska41994 жыл бұрын
She does that for flavor factor. Flour tastes better fried up with other ingredients. 😋

Nothing beats a good roux for flavor and thickening a soup! Another trick to thicken soups/stews, especially if trying to avoid flour, is to use dehydrated potato flakes 😊

Love the video, as always! For the apple crumble, I'm from the US and that's really the only way I've known to make it. Then I thought about your description of being lazy and can't be bothered to properly follow all the steps - that's probably exactly why we make it that way 😆

Your crumble recipe... That's almost how I've been making apple crisp in the States for over 2 decades. The only difference is that I add a tbsp of flour to toss with the apples and instead of pecan I use walnuts... because I like them better. lol It is a fabulous dish and I've even been making it in the crockpot (slow cooker) for years as well now. Low for 3-4 hours, makes the house smell amazingly autumn.
