Hey Guys!, Did you really finish this tutorial? Why nobody asking questions? Was it easy to solve? When you proceed with this tutorial, you will be stuck because you cannot see same result in 1:26:10. The pieces position(P) will not move according to the "down" vector. Because it was set to "Primitives Data" not "Point Data" in 42:34. If you change 'down' vector type, from"Primitives" to "Point" and save the cache again(46:12), you can solve this problem. Then you will also see correct result about velocity line 1:29:13. I don't know if it's because of editing in the video, but it wasn't mentioned. If you don't solve this, you can't also proceed to next step 'FX_RBD_Secondary' (1:30:50). Because 'FX_RBD_Secondary' use velocity attribute from 'FX_RBD_MOON' I'm a beginner, so it was too hard to solve this. T_T +Watch out 1:23:48 Line 9 // 0, 1 -> 1, 0 it was changed and not mentioned.

This is awesome, but one thing--in the shared file, the velocity attribute reads as zero after the main RBD Rotation wrangle. In the video there's measurable velocity at, say, frame 35. This means the particle sim speed cull doesn't work.
@larsonlevius1753
@larsonlevius1753 2 жыл бұрын
Ye ofc thats whats missing velocity it self is zero when rbd main sturctures measures the wrangle rotation. Frame it self should stay at the normal particle speed to measure the inertia speed more precisely..... ye ye me smart 😎
@damagejacked
@damagejacked 2 жыл бұрын
No, it's more than whatever you're saying. The results in the Geometry Spreadsheet *in the video* are different than what the Geo Spreadsheet shows in the example file, and it means the tutorial comes to a full stop. The tutorial just doesn't work from that point onward.

I think this looks so good that it could be passed as true realism with a bit more toning and occlusion, but the camera movement makes the whole scene look fake. Might wanna try stiffer camera movements with less smoothing on the camera sway. (This is from the perspective of someone who doesn't know anything about this hobby).

Here are the settings which made the noise work, if anyone has the same issue: Attribute names = Vector P Attribute Class = Point Range Values = Positive Values Add Noise Type = Simplex The rest of settings are default. My mistake was setting the Range Values as "Set" , while I should have chosen the setting "Add"

I get a question, you set attribute down at 42:31, the down is prim attribute, and the rest node shows it's still prim attribute at 43:38. but it turns to point attribute at 46:21 after the voronoifracture. I wonder when you did that change?

Hi I'm checking the RBD Moon geo network and at the "RBD rotation" part, it looks like the "primintrinsic transform" affects the scale as well, not just the rotation. I have checked by blasting a piece and I can clearly see that at the impact, it rotates and scale down as well! Is it normal?
@karimoh3154
@karimoh3154 2 жыл бұрын
I had the same issue and found a workaround / fix... The @down attribute needs to be on the points. but for some reason it is still on the primiteves. So you can do an other attribute promote just for @down from primitives to points and then it works.
@SamuraiTin
@SamuraiTin 2 жыл бұрын
@@karimoh3154 you're right it works thanks! I was wondering how can a matrix rotation do a scale change... I tried to do some research on the vex expression to check if there were not some option that changes the scale but actually it was just a format issue...
