it will be a good source of info for colonizing other planets and its only meant to be for 9 million people so if your theory is correct that's an elevator for every 9 people , I'm thinking they may have other means to get between floors like escalators, stairs and stuff , definitely doesn't sound like it would be good for disabled people. only 21k people work in empire state building and all them workers would all start and finish at roughly the same time that's why i think it has so many elevators that and the technology wasn't exactly as good as it is today as they can go higher and faster than its generation of elevators, with the line all the companies wouldn't be in one upright section they would be spread out so it would have less of an impact in a concentrated area , this just me theorizing lol bonus: I’ve recently discovered I’m terrified of elevators, so I’m taking steps to avoid them.

I think using other means of vertical transportation is just replacing one problem with another. The 1 elevator for every 9 people seems ridiculous until you remember they promised a 5 minute walking distance for everything (they needed).

The elevators 🛗 won’t scale up with the city being designed differently but I agree it probably won’t actually happen anytime soon

One other challenge is how do you get the goods to the stores on throughout the city without vehicles? will they just design service tunnels? I still think they could do this but it will be expensive to maintain and ultimately won't generate the economy to support itself. The key demographic is magic money man and his unlimited money business.

@@owenmutahi6555 yes but this is going to be in a tight line so everyone is going to be forced to go to the basement to ride a train. and if the train is closed or has a failure the city is essentially cut in half and puts the whole populace under a dependency. This isn't good for organic commerce.
