Is the music of the Fall. It always plays when someone is tempted by the Ring (Boromir, Smeagol). It is similar to what a choir of angels would have sung when they saw a tragedy about to happen, when Adam and Eve listened to the serpent's lie. That is why this Ashman's soundtrack touches the soul deeply, because it is not frightening, but it simply causes pity. 😉

I’m not a big fan of the hobbit movies. But one of the moments they absolutely nailed was in Mirkwood, when Biblo drops the Ring near that horrible spider thing and wants it back. So he’s brave, and fights it! But he goes further, and brutally murders it in one of the most vicious kills of the trilogy. “Mine,” he says, holding the Ring and smirking satisfiedly. Then as one he and the audience realize with sickening clarity what sweet, kindhearted bilbo just did to an innocent animal because of that little gold circle...and he didn’t even realize it...

That scene could be my favorite of that movie. The absolute shock Bilbo has after he killed it is so sad. It was the first time we see the Ring start to effect him in negative ways. And it’s exactly how the Ring is so evil as it makes people do the most vile things to the point of them believing it is for good. Tolkien was a genius when he created the idea of the Ring because it can represent so much in our lives
@pineapplepenumbra3 жыл бұрын
@@wjm21298 "Tolkien was a genius when he created the idea of the Ring" Except that he didn't create the idea of a ring of power. There was, for example, the Ring of the Nibelungen, a ring with the power to rule the world. This may be based on still older stories.

I think such masterpiece films come about so rarely because theres so many factors that are required... A good innovative idea, brilliant actors, a firm story driven plot that entices, takes you on an emotional rollercoaster and has no plot holes... You need a director with intuition, with any profession theirs levels of talent, you need patience, devotion, and not to be motivated by the revenue. Mostly of all there needs to be a combined passion from everybody making the film... Only with passion do you have the will to extend your capabilities to the maximum.

Mery and Pippin were not useless at all, they led the army of the bearded tree and destroyed the base of Saruman and those orcs. One of the best moments of the movies (actually an enhancement of the books) is just after Barad-dur crumbles, Gandalf starts to smile, anticipating victory. Then, without warning, Orodruin explodes with a sharp crack. Gandalf's smile disappears with a wince as he realizes that Frodo was unlikely to have survived that explosion. That wince conveys that Gandalf realizes the steep cost of victory. Brilliantly acted and a brilliant interpretation of Tolkien's material.
@jimmychen54453 жыл бұрын
I think this is by far the greatest summary of The One Ring. The beginning music tells the arrival of Anatar to Hollin and deceiving Celebrimbor in making the rings of power. The music transitions as the rings are completed and hallowed (with evil intent) by Anatar. Then the Gwaith i Mirdain brought these rings to those whom Anatar wish to control while he also forges The One Ring and wore it but the elves discovered his treachery so they allied with men, dwarves, ents, hobbits, ghosts, beornings, eagles and all other free folk to defeat Anatar who is now Sauron at last. And The One Ring was cast into the fires of Orodruin and the citadels of Sauron fell and he was fully mastered and went into the void never to return again. So basically yeah, from its creation to its destruction.

Luigi the smash king I am pretty sure you are just writing this because you are bored or you have no idea what LotR is actually about, because you writing a comment like this shows that you didn't actually understand anything of the concept of the Lord of the Rings at all. The characters were absolutely amazing, every one of them had a unique design that had been constructed by J.R.R Tolkien and they are all amazing heroes. Frodo the Ringbearer is one of the protagonists, why? He was able to resist the power of the Ring so long. Aragorn was a sacrificer and Samwise was just a perfect friend you look for in real life. If you are writing that the characters are bad, you are pathetic and don't have any clue at all.Inform yourself.
@Luigi_is_8 жыл бұрын
+Jana Cookie WOW! Someone is Nostalgia blind! FRODO could barely resist the ring most of the time. To the point of where he let himself get stabbed on weather top. Same was ok, and Aaragorn I can agree was good. Everyone else was useless. My personal tastes. All the characters wanted to take the ring and borimer even got himself killed because of it
@artesaa8 жыл бұрын
Ok now you have to take things easy. Frodo was INDEED able to resist to the One Ring, many times. It sure was hard, but do you think anyone else would have succeeded if it was not Frodo? Tolkien at this point tries to show us how hard this quest actually is, but for a little hobbit in the big world he did a great job. Of course Sam was a great help there, but every "hero" needs sidekicks that help him get through. Frodo is a great character, for he is ready to sacrifice his own life for the Shire (and eventually Middle-Earth). Sam and him have an intention : "There is some Good in this world, and it's worth fighting for." Saying that his character is shit shows me that you didn't understand at all. Sad to be honest.
@artesaa8 жыл бұрын
Well it's your personal opinion. But the way I see things, EVERY movie needs bad guys. Sauron is the first one. Boromir is there to teach a lesson. He is the sign that shows the weakness of men. Later in the movie things got different, since Aragorn was still there. And the others were also a great help. Aragorn , Legolas and Gimli fought bravely in the war, summoned the Army of Dead and didn't let Mordor's Army conquer Rohan&Gondor. Of course there were other soldiers as well. Gandalf also contributed a lot. What I am trying to say is that they all served a purpose.

I love the start of this score so hypnotic but of course that's what was intended because that's what the one ring does it hypnotise's, corrupts and changes the souls of anyone who is near it which is amazing how such a small insignificant thing can course so much damage without even being seen as dangerous.

I love how the One Ring has a "will of its own", a motif that is repeated not just in the film itself, but even within the motifs of the One Ring's theme music. This sort of "dark temptation" that the Ring brings about, to ultimately serve its greater purpose, is so masterfully portrayed at 1:55. It sounds like the Ring is "calling"; which, if you think about it, is crazy; not only are we naturally convinced by this notion that a ring has a will and a sort of "purpose in life", but that it also has the ability to deceive, tempt, and lure people towards it. It's a ring damn it! And not only that, even the MUSIC conveys these ideas convincingly! It's truly mesmerizing how much Tolkien was able to put into his lore, and how much the producers of the film were able to pull out of it!

my confession; I actually have the one ring on a chain on a shelf in my library room. it's not like i wear it or talk to it or call it precious while tenderly caressing it! It's just after what I went through i just had to have a souvenir to fight the PTSD. I'm Isildur's heir not Isildur himself. If i start having probs with it, I'm gonna toss it into the sea or find someone with an oxycetalene torch. I swear to Eru that I won't wear it (much) other than at Comiccon to pick up she elf cosplayers. that should be pretty safe.

I don’t think Elijah Wood gets enough credit for showing just how evil, sinister, and manipulative the One Ring is. You can tell throughout the whole trilogy Frodo is constantly struggling (mentally and physically) against the Ring’s will with great difficulty, and is horrified as his mission with Sam continues! Well, everyone did a phenomenal job, there’s not one bland character in the entire trilogy. It’s a *MASTERPIECE!!!*
