HFY is a story/series that takes a “human element” in either humanity or an “other” (race/species or object) that exists in a “setting” (future or other world/universe) with varying levels of culture, technology, society and history that help show in some shape or form the potential good or bad for humanity’s race/culture. In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.

Humans Are Space Orcs (HASO) or Humans Are (Fantasy Race) Are used as a guide when writing.
In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don't always put a positive spin on humans\humanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

hmm... that is true , while we are at the absolute bottom of visual mimicry on terra , i mean compare a human to a squid or a chamelon lizzard and the defence rests XD... but human verbal flexibility is not to shabby just like being omnivore predator with a disposition for cross species pack bonding... it can be a great multi use asset , though i hoppe humans starts to treat the other cross species bonding capable creatures of gaia better before any more is lost to those that miss use progress :/

We've literally TRIED to domesticate everything, from elephants to ants, even fish. If you think I'm lying look up the story of Bart the Bear, and Sigried and Roy's exploits. Raising alligators and crocodiles as pets (yes, lived though that craze), ancient attempts to tame hyenas, zebras, and cheetahs, and even the odd war rhino.

The looks from adult cats is just as fun. 😊 I can sometimes do that with the gap in my two front teeth. I used to be able to do it on command. About fifteen years ago, I was chatting with some kittens at a friend's house. Momma kitty looked at me confused for a little bit before climbing on the back of my chair and biting at my nape a couple of times before tugging on my back collar. It only lasted a minute or so, but it was freaking adorable. Momma knew I wasn't a kitten, much less hers, but the confusion likely made it difficult to resist the motherly instinct the sound triggered. I don't think it helped that she wasn't as intelligent as most cats. 😏

Oh, I can do that too. It's not as accurate as when I was a kid but still fun enough to do. I remember once I convinced my grandma for about half an hour that our cat was stuck somewhere cause she was constantly hearing meowing, until she realised it was me.

Entertaining story, and one I can relate to. I'm in my mid sixties now. All of my life I've been in the habit of sometimes trying to imitate animals, and have always enjoyed observing the reactions I got. I am best with dog talk, but also do cat, bird, and other animals. I once confused the H out of some hummingbirds. They were raiding the hummingbird feeder hanging over my stepmom's second floor deck. She and I were hanging out there. I was standing by the feeder, and could hear these cute little pipping noises that they were making, so I started pipping too. Some of them came over to hover by me and pipped back at me. It was pretty obvious though that they were confused. Hummingbirds know that they are fragile, so they are very cautious around other life forms. Because I made no aggressive moves, just stood there pipping, they were willing to take a chance on hovering very close to me while they tried to figure out what was going on. I really enjoyed that clise interaction with nature, and harmlessly confusing them was also amusing.😄🐦
