In a world full of unknowns a lot of us are striving to be as prepared as possible. If you could only have one rifle and one pistol that more or less does everything, what would it be? We deep dive on this topic and why we chose the way that we did. #edc #preparedness #rifle #ar15 #glock

I think you’re missing the point. This isnt some doomsday scenario. This is more aimed at the new gun owner who may not be able to afford multiple rifles but more so needs to focus on one rifle, one pistol as a good foundation that can cover the bases allowing them to focus on money for ammo and training.

I think the point of this video is to advise new gun owners on a good "all round" rifle and pistol to purchase. Similar to what I recommend to friends is getting into firearms, Ballistic Advantage 14.5 and P365 Xmacro (non comp). The average American gun owner isn't going to shoot out the standard BA barrel, gets them more ammo and other gear if limited on funds.

No. 14.5 is money. Just without bs pin and weld. It’s just the best balance. It’s it’s a dedicated close range gun sure. But if you want across your living room to 4, 5, 600. With a k can it’s still not insanely long. The military uses 14.5 and has for exactly that. Why? It can do what a mk18 can just not as well but it can shoot farther and fast. No idgaf about a mk18 hitting steel at 1000 great shot. Doesn’t mean with worth a fuck. At 4-600 yes a mk18 can still kill you. 14.5 is just flatter faster. 13.7-16” isn’t just about bs ATF shit. It’s just the most flexible.

The Knights SR-15 is banned in Cali. It's dumb I know. I tried to find a KAC upper but couldn't find one. I went with the DDM4A1 with the quad rail, EOTECH EXPS3, KAC iron sights, Geissele trigger, Modlite PLHv2 with Surefire switch on Cloud Defensive mount and a Ferro Concepts sling. I also have a DDM4V7s 11.5 inch with basically the same parts but with Scalarworks iron sights instead of KAC and a pistol brace. My next rifle will be a BCM. I aso want a BRN 180 pistol. Great advice, and overall I agree. I’d choose a 16” over a 14.5”, because the extra 1.5” isn’t that much of a penalty in maneuverability and it gets me a fair bit more velocity, so it’s worth the trade off for me. I’d probably go with an LPVO plus back up iron sights over a red dot, but that’s shooter’s preference.

Gen IV Glock 20 (yes I carry it _EVERY_ day 4 seasons unless I need something small specifically then it's my Gen IV G19FS) because IMO once you're good with it it's about as capable as a factory handgun can be. Pair that with a 7.62 AK103K (my preference) or my 11.5 AR in the truck and I'm comfortable with the bases I have covered. IMO the 10mm really is just THE best all-around "common" handgun caliber today. The G20 shoots like a slightly beefier recoiling G17 and having had to use it to stop a moose on the kenai up in Ak I'm a BIG believer in the capability of the round to stop 2 and 4 legged creatures RIGHT NOW.

For the new gun owner, or for an Army infantry vet like me with decades of experience, if you're limited to one do-it-all rifle and pistol combo then simple and 100% reliable is never the wrong way to go. The best rifle would be the Colt AR15A4 20" and the pistol would be the CZ P-09 (or maybe P-07). Done!

@johnnorris1024 13 күн бұрын
AR15 yes and Glock yes. BCM though no. Once you slap a lower on that and your $400 flashlight, and your $800 red dot?!?! 😂😂😂 Listen, you built a Navy Seal CQB special. That is NOT what the person that wants to own utilitarian AR should buy. If you are building a do it all, it needs to be for home defense and a SHTF situation. You need a rifle that isn't so picky about being cleaned so it needs to be piston operated. I recommend the PWS Mk114 Mod 1. For $1600, it comes with guaranteed sub MOA groups. It also works at any temperature from -50 to 120 degrees. DI carbines have issues with very cold and very hot temps. Mount a Primary arms sLC 5x36 prism sight ($325) because if SHTF, most of your problems will be greater than 50 yards away which is about as far as a red dot is functionally good for because they are generally 3 MOA and the dot covers your entire target so you can't aim. The prism scope has a chevron point of aim so your target is not covered and you can reach out and touch that invading force at 600 yards with it as well. For the flashlight, I hate to break your heart, a flashlight is a flashlight and an O light only cost $50 and is nearly as tough as that surefire. I've had my O light 5 years and beat the crap out of it and never had a problem. You guys had the right idea, but, unfortunately you let your favoritism ruin your rifle choice.
@guerrilla_tactical
@guerrilla_tactical 12 күн бұрын
@@johnnorris1024 Although we respect your opinion we disagree with a lot of it. The BCM like a Glock is less about favoritism but was chosen because of personal experience with thousands of rounds through it. LPVOs with dots on top are an excellent choice, we opted for an eotech here and would have a flip to the side magnifier if it were a personal rifle. Either or will work well. If you want to talk about longer range engagement the real topic of discussion is ditching 5.56 and moving on to a heavier caliber DMR or SPR build. The idea was “all around” if you could just have one. A 5.56 rifle build like this will do most things people need and some. Truthfully in a SHTF situation engagements likely will not be so far away as you’re claiming as so many people in densely populated areas. Also this is not necessarily a video aimed at SHTF, more so all around if someone were to just have one pistol and one rifle. And quite frankly “ a flashlight is a flashlight” is simply not true. There are differing qualities of gear for a reason, some is indeed better than others and we always promote folks getting the best they can afford.

Guns like Glocks and BCM are mid tier priced work horses that after tens of thousands of rounds behind each we can say with confidence that they will go bang just about as reliably as you can get. We’re not necessarily saying you have to get a glock and a bcm, only that if we could just have one pistol and one rifle this is what we would choose and why. Separately from that, we would never tell someone to go into debt for gear, and any gun is better than no gun, but folks should prioritize some quality when building out their kit. It's only my experience and perspective growing up on AK's and then learning AR's years later that allows me that viewpoint. When I travel it is with a 14.5 AR and my G17 gen 4. Like I said, I like and use both but I've seen more cops comfortable around AR's. Not always- hell our a couple of our forest service dudes prefer the AK because it don't give a f**k about limbs and branches. They are better in the brush and better for barrier blind situations, when you need to get through something. I choose an AR when I need precision and not penetration. I am the first to admit, a 14.5 - 16" midweight barrel with a 1-6 lvpo or acog is damn hard to beat. It's like the AR is the saber/scalpel and the AK is the battle axe/war hammer. Choose accordingly. If either fails, I still have the ability to use all the Rounds I'm carrying. The 9mm carbine is good out to 100 yrds, if, in the extremely unlikely event, you find yourself needing to reach out further than that, something very very bad has happened, and you might want to GTFO!.
