A dry-land reason. This episode has earned it's place in my top five OSB episode list. Thanks for posting.

This is one of the best OSB episodes, I was in the US Navy for 6 years and I really identify with this tale and mysteries of sea going men.

This is one of the top three best ever episodes on OSB. I didn't think I would be watching this three or four times in 2019!

Nice the dear departed man also showed the Captain is very fit for service. I would be bothered to have been unkind to an unliving man, but the only way they proved ghost is, he didnt runaway. Nice 1st mate cared though to bring a deadman in the crowded boat to provide decent burial. Deep!

There is an answer. It was him in spirit form, his ghost. That character...the boy 'stowaway' had a good soul, brave one and strong too to help his fellow shipmates lost at sea and keep them from being drowned as well...he saved them and one should strive to be a character that aids other naturally good in the midst of even the worst of times falling upon oneself. Nothing to do with sea reason or land reason....it's simple case of kind spirits.

He was a navigator, and only a full grown man can hold such a position, not a "boy". The actor playing that role was 50 at the time.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Here is a similar story. But in this case it's true. I had a fur farm rescue mink as a new pet, and had to go to a special vet for the first time. I got off the subway, and had to pass through a very old church cemetery to reach the vet. As I passed though the cemetery, I noticed in the distance to my right, a unique and small gravesite, surrounded by an old wrought iron fence. For some reason, something compelled me to go over and check it out. So I walked over, and went to the other side where the inscription was located. The tombstone had my name on it. My exact name. And my last name is an old English one, and quite rare. I started laughing so hard, a nearby groundskeeper looked at me like I was insane! I later checked with my family, and no one had a clue as to who this person was. Anyway, the 150 year old limestone tombstone was very eroded, and I figured I must have been drawn there for a reason. I couldn't replace the tombstone, as I wasn't family. So I paid for a ground marker below the tombstone, with the inscription copied onto it. It was the least I could do for the most unique event in my life.

Pretty good episode but it was sort of a knockoff of one from the TV series from 1951 which had the same idea really....mysterious change in navigation which nobody seems to have made...leads ship to survivors. Bela Lugosi was in that one. It's on YT, a series of vids from shows sorta like OSB. So, a C for originality in this case, OSB took the premise from elsewhere. Nevertheless this was well acted by both leads...

Wish it were longer. It certainly deserves to be. The actors and the story hold one’s attention and that’s rare these days.

It's impossible, unless its made by a natural, good hearted character of a sensible director with true values, the right kind of inspiring, morale and real, natural creativity and intelligence.
