Unfortunately, it is true. One PBS series "The Yellow Paper wall actually happened from the 19th Century, where a wife was denied seeing her children after they claimed she was under depression and kept her from her children, having pencils and papers where her depression made her mad. There was no asylum but was kept in a room by herself. She was denied any communication with anyone including her children. Miserable lot these so-called medical men were of the so-called 19th Century professional field. I can't even watch it again because it is too degrading what they did to this wife of this prominent man. She eventually got out and divorced her husband and wrote stories of her experience during that time.

In England, men like Harrison are not gay, they're bachelors that refuse to give in to a woman, the only thing they want is their money and estate. So if they can get rid of them, they would, not to murder, but to an asylum. Those men are awful and only deserve to go to prison. The spirit was someone there to be kind to her when she needed him most. I wish I had a Jeremy. It's a lot nicer than being alone.

skibee, I'm going on 61 in a couple weeks. My husband planned to kill me too! I've been hiding in Indiana knowing no one, I'm lonely & living in a room with 3 walls & no privacy. My attorney screwed me over as I had no more money & paid him up front, yes another lying crooked man! I lost everything but m life & my Chihuahua. But I am free skibee, I am grateful for that. Texas is awfully hot isn't it? God bless.

Taking a page from Stargate SG-1, perhaps she ascended: gave up her physical body and became pure energy and thought. The actor playing her husband did an excellent job playing George Washington in another episode. Years later played a doctor on a cruise ship in a Columbo episode.

I really enjoyed this a young boy/adolescent. It's clearly not as well written as Twilight Zone nor are the production values nearly as good. But Newland was a convincing host, often putting himself into the action. It, along with the short-lived "Way Out" hosted by Ronald Dahl were great imagination stimulators.

He's not a rich husband. She's the one who is rich. Didn't you see the first scene, where he gets her to sign some papers, and refuses to tell her about them. This happened a lot. She said to him towards the end, she would've given him a divorce, if he had asked for one. The money is what kept him there.
