Man.... I love your coasters/vids so much. From the age of 7 I was obsessed with being a coaster designer. I'd even call up theme park managers and coaster design companies to talk about them as a kid, haha. Practically wore out my rollercoaster VHS tapes watching them over and over. I sort of got away from that dream after high school, but have kept loving roller coasters. Your videos bring back all those feelings of how passionate I was about designing coasters growing up. I also love how integral music is to your designs. It's a dimension of coaster design that hasn't been used enough, yet. I really really hope to find out one day that you are designing coasters that actually get built and enjoyed by millions of eager thrill seekers. :o) One last question/request. Do you ever challenge yourself to design a coaster within certain restricted limits, (no pun intended)? I mean, like if a park actually hired you and said, "We need this type of coaster and you only have this much space to work with. It can only be ___ feet tall, and track has to be ___ distance from all walkways.... blah blah"? From what I can tell, you kind of design mostly for fun or with certain ideas in mind, but when you get to design for real someday, you'll probably have to work with very small spaces and limited terrain. Just a thought! Keep it up, you inspire me.

Thank you so much for your enthusiastic compliments. It sounds like we have quite a bit in common. I bet we even had those same VHS tapes back in the day (America's Greatest Roller Coaster Thrills 1 & 2, World's Greatest Roller Coaster Thrills). I've given a lot of thought to what I would do if I were given certain restrictions. I haven't tried my hand at that type of content because I'd rather wait until I've become better at this before I attempt something confined to a set of boundaries determined by somebody other than myself. At the moment, what I create is done in the interest of art and entertainment. I'm not designing for the G forces as much as the spectacle and the experience on the screen. That being said, one reason why I haven't explored building within restrictions is because I only design a coaster if I have a fully realized inspiration. Every roller coaster that you see from this channel has been brewing in my mind for weeks, months, and in some cases years before I ever even click on the first node. Almost every one of these coasters began with me listening to the incorporated song and letting my imagination go wild.

Those were the tapes! haha! Definitely a fan of all your designs and see the beauty in the lines and motion. I started learning NL2 last year but kinda got away from it for whatever reason. I should get back into it because I've had some concepts for coasters in my head for YEARS. Stuff I still haven't seen anyone make, but I'm not sure if NL2 has the ability to do some of the things I'm imagining. For me, I see the build requirements as a game or challenge more than anything. I play a ton of video games, (also a hobby developer), and I've kinda started enjoying working within parameters to achieve the best results with what I have. That's probably the engineering side of my mind overtaking the creative side, lol. If I ever get around to building stuff in there I'd love for you to give me your thoughts, if you're cool with it, of course!

what changes are you making? just better video quality?
@jordanb7624
@jordanb7624 8 жыл бұрын
Zonies Coasters Video quality is definitely the major difference that they'll all have. Each coaster has had different degrees of aesthetic changes based on small details that always bothered me when I would go back and watch my previous videos. Some coasters changes are much more noticeable than others. A few of them are just minor changes to supports where you would have to watch both versions side by side to really find the difference while others are more profound aesthetic changes (removal of halo cones on lighting effects, improved environments and settings, and in the case of Kaleido, a fluid transition of the multi-colored track). The only coaster that has had major track work changed is Majesty which has one of its inversions alerted to something much more intense. Both versions of that coaster are available for download via Steam Workshop.
