Same. “Haunting“ is a great way to describe it. Knowing what we now know about how difficult it was for him at times up to and including the night he ended his life, it makes songs like this so much more poignant. Obviously the lyrics were originally written about a man coming home from war. But I think the symbolism of the words are perfect for his life also.

Chris was awsome in all those bands and in solo. Both bands were 2 of my favourites bands of alltime. They had great names (and it's rare) with significant and simple meaning (thanks to Chris) and amazing songs that sounded like no one else. I would love your input on our last video from our first album. It got the attention of one of my heroes Joe Bouchard (ex bass player founding members of BÖC) who is following us on Soundcloud but returns from people who likes same music is always the best. If you have just 3 minutes to listen and a bit more to comment, that would mean the world to me. Keep rockin' : kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2LJh4WNa99mpJY and Happy new year

Can't remember anything Is this true or just a dream? Deep down inside I feel to scream Terrible silence stopping me Now that the war is through with me I'm waking up, but I can't see That there's ain't much left of me Nothing is real, nothing is real, but the pain now Deep down inside it's much too real In pumps life that I must feel But I can't look forward to reveal Look to the time when I can live Fed through tube that's stuck in me Just like a wartime novelty Tied to machines that make me be Cut this life off, cut this life off from me Landmine has taken my sight Took away my speech Took away my hearing Left me with life in hell Darkness surrounds me All I hear and all I see I cannot live and I cannot die I'm trapped in myself Trapped in myself Landmine has taken, taken my sight Taken my hearing Taken my eyes Landmine has left me with life in hell My body my holding cell I cannot die Now the world is gone I'm just one Just one Hold my breath as I'm wishing for death Just one, please God, wake me God help me God take me Hold my breath as I wish for death Please, please God Please God take me

@dohczeppelin378 жыл бұрын
+Alice Black Err... how is he underrated? He's been the front man for several commercially successful bands (Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave), has made appearances on the albums of many other successful bands (Zac Brown Band, Carlos Santana, etc.) , and has a successful solo career to boot (just saw him last week). This one random youtube video has a quarter of a million hits alone...
@kneegloc8 жыл бұрын
+Alex Wolcott I think +Alice Black means that he should hit more than #7 on the Billboard charts, and stay there more than a week... Meaning, more people should realize quality music when they hear it, not some one-hit-wonder band who won't last past their sophomore attempt... Something like that... Just my opinion...
@dohczeppelin378 жыл бұрын
kneegloc number 7 on the charts is pretty damn real... Again, my point stands. Top 10 on the charts is not underrated by any measure.

What hope do the rest of has when a man like Chris Cornell - a man whose talent is so immense that it eclipses everyone around him - cannot find enough joy in life to keep going forward. On May 17, 2017 Chris Cornell was found dead, and by the official account, he took his own life. He brought so much joy to others, through sharing his one of a kind voice, so it is so sad that he apparently did not have enough joy in his own life to keep going. You will be sorely missed Chris. Chris Parisi Like the lyrics to "Enemy" -- another one I love. (Even though it comes from the Scream album that 99.9% of people hated). Great song; similar sentiment.
