I have often found myself reciting scripture in my mind when I get puffed up when I see im walking better in the Lord. I tell myself it's good but always remember it is Him and the work done on the cross and my belief in that which saves me not the works of my flesh.

A good once to recite is John 15:4 which is 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. - John 15:4 Of course I would recommend knowing all of chapter 15.

One way to know your in Christ( supposing already that you believe He died and rose again on the third day) 1. Ask yourself... Am i still cleansed and sanctified as i was. On the first day i believed.

Why would I ever even care what Paul and John Pipers convoluted theories of Jesus are? Jesus told everyone in HIS Gospel to Seek HIM and HIS Righteousness. That is what I do. I am totally mystified why you all prefer Paul and John Piper?!

@@HearGodsWord you're not seeking His righteousness though, you're seeking to establish your own by trying to do everything He commanded, while at the surface seems like obeying, it is not. For He said to trust in Him. You're trusting in your own works and you fall very very very very very very very short. You seek to condemn someone who does follow Jesus, and places His trust in His righteousness not their own. This the prophets did not do. This Jesus did not do, therefore the wrath of God still rests in your head. Not on Jesus' there was a reason God had to die, that's because you are unrighteous and separated from God.

+Samuel Jergunson..Jesus Came to Bring us HIS Saving commandments and to tell us He Forgives us and Will Help us..as we Strive to DO what HE Asks. He ask the Pharisees to Humble themselves and Obey HIS commandments too..and they killed HIM for it..because they lost control of the people once Jesus Came. Jesus Knew they would kill HIM. But He Came for us Anyway. Because He died Does NOT mean He does not want us to Obey HIS commandments and "Just Believe" we are Saved and we Are. That is a Lie. +Marty Blackman. All you have to do..is read Jesus Gospel in Matthew 5 6 7. And then read Paul's philosophies and you will see they are totally opposite. It is there for anyone to see. Jesus said.."Obey My commandments and Seek ME and MY Righteousness and you will be Delivered from evil." Paul said..Obeying commandments will Not save you..and you need a church with a Hiearchy of titled men to tell you what to do. Sounds pretty opposite to me.

Jesus IS the Way, the Truth and the Life. Paul is NOT. Paul did not say..to not obey Gods commandments..anyway. I read Jesus Sermon on the Mount and Paul's philosophies and there is no resemblance. Jesus Spoke for HIMSELF. He does not need HIS Gospel twisted and turned upside down like this man does. It amazes me that you will defend John Piper and ignore what Jesus Said. Jesus was Not kind to..nor did HE love talk the Pharisees either. +Light..I am No Gnostic. I read the Gospel of Matthew chapter 5 6 7. That is Jesus Gospel and commandments of Jesus..Plain and simple for all to read.. But for some reason you have chosen to believe the convoluted philosophies of Paul. Jesus Speaks for HIMSELF. He Needs no church with a Hiearchy of titled men to speak for HIM. Jesus called the men who followed HIM disciples..HE did NOT call them apostles. There is no reason to be putting one man above another with some title. We are ALL UNDER Christ. Jesus clearly commanded his followers numerous times to preach the gospel around the world. Besides, theres no holy disciple who puts himself above Christ. In many of his epistles, Paul starts with : Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God When Jesus appeared to Paul in Damascus, he commanded him to spread the news and his teachings. None of Pauls teachings contradict the ones of Jesus. On the contrary, he even clarifies those of Jesus, since the churches he is writing to always complicate things and bring confusion. For example, we see in Romans several passages, in which Paul declines false doctrines by mentioning them, afterwards he refutes them. The reason we consider Paul one of the greatest apostles (if not the greatest) is because he has had a great impact (if not the greatest) on the spreading of the gospel and on clarifying it. Didnt Jesus tell us, to differentiate demons from saints by looking at their fruits? Paul and Peter together healed the sick, simply by letting their shadows pass by since their faith in Christ is strong. Pastor Piper makes the epistles of Paul clear by connecting earlier thoughts with later ones and making sense of them.

+Samuel Jergunson.. If you would.. But just READ Jesus commandments you would see. Paul and John Piper have you people blind! One of Jesus Most stressed commandments IS Forgiveness. Jesus Grace is Built Right into HIS commandments. I do Not Have to be Perfect. Jesus Forgives us and is Always There to Help us do better. And God is NOT a Perfectionist..as Paul was. Jesus explained the way in which God is Perfect..is that HE GOD is Kind to the evil as well as the good. Pauls convoluted philosophies are NOT necessary and does nothing But Distract. It is you who needs to repent. You cannot even read and understand three chapters in the bible?!
