Thank You Pastor John, this meant a lot to me. God saved me from a lot, and I don’t want to go in to it, but it was bad, and I often try and forget about all the bad things in my life, but sometimes when I do think about it, I just completely feel overwhelmed by the grace and love of God, that pulled me out of the pit, when I felt completely lost. May God bless you Pastor John.

Well, one thing I have noticed here is that a precept of the entire series is at least being attempted. This is a Bible STUDY, led by a pastor of great merit. That does not, I think, mean that he intends his interpretations to be the final word. He carefully divides the word as HE understands it. It is OUR opportunity to do a deep dive into the Word of God every day, and that we MUST do if we are to not only understand the Word, but to trust that if we are faithful to STUDY the word, and listen, we will HEAR what the Word has for us to learn, know and live. This is an opportunity to establish, and exist within a Bible STUDY group; a small group of struggling belly buttons on a shared journey of faith, love, and fidelity to one another. Frankly, I cannot say how grateful I am for that. It provides me daily with the opportunity to interact with the Word, and with this "small" group from around the planet, with other "belly button" kids--including this Pastor, and seek to know the will of God in our lives TODAY. I find myself disagreeing with interpretations sometimes, but that is because, like our Pastor here, I DO the work he invites us, through his example to do. God speaks to ME through His Word, just like he speaks to our Pastor, and each other. I pray for him, and for us every day, and I am so very grateful that this study exists, that we have a pastor of true and great understanding of the Word, and for each other in this group. Subject to correction, reproof, etc. I have a great confidence in, whether I agree with him or not, in this teacher and man. He leads me to the Word, and he is, like I, not only a struggling sinner saved by Grace through faith. I believe he is entirely subject to interaction through his work here. In fact, I suspect that in the center of his soul, Pastor Piper is secretly BEGGING for interactions just such as this . HE NEEDS US, TOO! Treat one another with the greatest of respect. We are the created, not the Creator. We are the pot; we don't get a vote on the potter. Let's together STUDY the Word, pray hard, and struggle to follow what we hear when we do. Prayers and love to all, with a humble heart ready to HEAR the Word of God, through the Holy Spirit, to each of us from an amazing "Dad" who is crazy stupid NUTS in love with each one of us...HIS KIDS! Let's get busy, and live the Word given to us. Amen.

+Jeff Backus..I Trust Matthew..Jesus chose him special..he was an accountant so he would have been very accurate..concise..detailed and unbiased. The Best Account! Matthew 5 6 7. It is Jesus Gospel as He Spoke it..Best we Can get. The rest of the bible either supports what Jesus Said or it is contrary or not important. Jesus Said in Matthew 6:33 to Seek Him and HIS Righteousness. That is what I Do. Jesus shows me what it HIS Truth and what bible verses to leave alone. I TRUST Jesus. He is Who I Follow..not Piper or his likes.

+Old things pass away and all become new..he quoted mostly Paul and a little in Luke and John. He did Not quote Jesus Gospel in Matthew 5 6 7. That is Jesus Gospel.

Jesus' words are quoted in this video, so you're wrong.

+etho 98.. You are so Right! This is a mystery to me. I Have forgiven murder..I have forgiven so much worse things in my life..BUT I Hate this man. I have no idea why? I am trying! It definitely keeps me humble! To know there is one forgiveness..I just cannot seem to conquer. He truly is The Only man I Hate..and I do not know why..I Just Do.

+Ellectrixx..Paul quoting Paul does not count. Jesus did not say the bible was God-breathed.

You wouldn't claim to know Jesus if it were not for the Word of God.

You make a good point there Jeff. The New Testament is the only place where we have Jesus' words written down. We have several first-hand accounts so it seems to be the most trustworthy place to turn to.

It would be so Nice! If Piper could..Ever..Actually quote the Real God..Jesus..instead of his god Paul. Jesus Said..Live One Day at a time.. Forgive the Past..it is past. Live ToDay and don't live in the Future..you don't know the future. "Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.". Jesus also Said.."Forgive and you will be Forgiven. Do not Forgive and you will not be Forgiven.". Jesus also Said.."From your Heart Forgive everyone.". Obviously..if you Follow Jesus..you will Forgive yesterday and everyone! Why would anyone even care what Paul thinks or says. He is NOT God.

2 Timothy 3:16-"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of Godmay be thoroughly equipped for every good work." why are pauls messages in the bible? God has given us everything for a Godly life in his scriptures, if not then we wouldnt have them

It would be so nice if you actually listened to any of the videos you comment on, then you'd realise your errors and repent.

kathleen Wharton Hey Kathleen- it’s ethos. I’m confused. After our discussion I thought you would have a more forgiving heart toward Dr.Piper for what he represents to you and to be satisfied with all that God is for you in Christ? I see you continually disputing and angry on every video desiring god posts. How is it that you declare all the forgiveness you have in Christ and your solidarity to His teaching alone- yet you consistently display a lack of love toward Dr.piper or anyone who raises points that he IS employing sola scriptura in his didactic sessions. What gives? Honestly, if you don’t believe anything Dr. piper espouses- why do you follow and comment on EVERY video. I gave you the benefit of the doubt , but I’m really beginning to think you’re a troll- or at least you really are a Judas and not a sincere believer- because you lack a lot of love and spurn conviction when it presents itself. It seems that in your mission to defend the Bible alone you actually discredit it when you say “who listens to Paul?” Even Jesus said in revelation that anyone who adds or subtracts to the words of these books is in danger of hellfire. If you say all these authors added words of their own- and you are trying to discount them except what Jesus says in the gospels- well, you have now put yourself in risk of being told “I never knew you”. I’d stop doing this if I were you and be humble in heart and gentle. If you don’t like piper, don’t watch him. Honestly- stop.
