That’s my contention too, I would go for the pro with a flat screen in a heartbeat but it’s not an option. I hate curved screens. So close to good but yet so far. It doesn’t make sense to make it curved.

@@dpd136 I was concerned too but went to Best Buy to compare, it's honestly not as bad as I was expecting. I currently have the P4XL which is 1440 as well. So it would technically be a downgrade, but I'm not mad about it.

When you register your fingerprint, do so by tapping lightly and not by pressing down firm. This has helped me a bunch. Cheers!

I also hat fingerprint issues at the start. It was quite annoying since my old huawei p20 pro had a superior fingerpring reader. I also use a screen protector on my pixel 6. Since I registered my thumb 2 times and increased the touch sensitivity, it got much better.

Do you realize that putting a screen protector on Victus glass is quite literally a waste of money, because your screen itself is significantly stronger than any screen protector on the market? It doesn't help anything, hence why it didn't come with one pre-installed.

Most techtubers are praising the Pixel 6 and I agree with them. The 6 Pro is the BEST Pixel. But sometimes the best isn't the best for everybody. The 6 is the best for most users needs.

Regardless of it being way more expensive than the 6, it is a lot cheaper than the other flagship phones and is the best pure android you can get. The pixel 6 pro is priced just right, it's just that the pixel 6 is a really good valued phone.

The color Damien is holding is the best color for the Pixel. Any penguin 🐧 or panda 🐼 Pixels like the 2 XL and 4 looks awesome. Glossy white also shows less smudges. Damien chose a good one.

With your fingerprint unlock, it looks like you're applying a lot of pressure instantly with your thumb every time, instead of more gentle approach, might possibly be why is not registering as it's a 2-d fingerprint scanner

@@boakyebb you can’t put a cut out in a glass screen protector, which is what he’s using. I don’t use a screen protector at all, but I still upped the touch sensitivity as it helps when/if the fingerprint goes glitchy, which it has more as the week progresses.

The pixels are using the latest goodix sensor which is by far the best in the business. I'm pretty sure it's just down to tuning that an update or 2 will fix. It definitely has the best hardware as far as FPS go .

@Damien Wilde: I was holding the regular Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro side by side in a shop the other day and noticed that the display of the regular one had a red-ish tint to it. This was even more noticable by directly comparing it with the Pro's display. I tried setting both devices to the same level of brightness, picked the same background image and design configuration etc. Can you confirm this? This red-ish tint would be a deal breaker for me for the regular one and the Pro is a) too expensive and b) too big for me.

I got the sorta seafoam one too. I knew immediately when they were announced that it was the one I wanted. I love the color green and the green on the top is my favorite color. So that was a no brainer for me. I also don't understand how people are getting bad battery life. I use adaptive everything and I am a heavy user and by the time I lay down in bed at around midnight each night my battery is still 30-40%.

I'm agonising over whether to get the regular 6 or the pro. The zoom lens is very important to me. I'm using the Pixel 5 and can see how it is a downgrade over the 4XL which I had previously. Ultrawide is for me the third camera, not second, in terms of utility. On the other hand I really really don't want a curved edge, and the colours are nicer on the regular 6 as well. Not to mention it's 33% cheaper. So I'd be very grateful if you could go into these issues in detail when you issue your Pro review. Thank you!

When u are using the fingerprint sensor instead of putting ur left thumb do it again with ur right as ur second finger print and it should work a little faster as these in bulit display sensors are trash if it works then let me know

I'm looking for upgrade next year ...I wonder how much better this variant would be for me from pixel 4xl. I shoot all my content and edit it all on pixel 4xl now. Was the note 9 and before that the One plus 3t. I've been sticking with one device since the one plus 3t as at that point things seems to be great for Android. Less mods needed. Less upgrading. So now I'm hoping for a great content creator device. Aside from a few uses with LG g8 and v20 I think pixel has it for me. Why? The amazing rendering speed on power director. It is unbelievable how they optimized the video rendering on this thing. For that I hope to stay on pixel line.

My concerns with Pixel 6: * Major: a slow in-display optical fingerprint sensor is a big step backward. Pixel phones should either stick with practical and reliable fingerprint sensor at the back, or switch to ultrasonic scanner. * Major: adding a glass back is not practical for day to day use. Pixel phones should use Aluminium back like Pixel5, or use high quality plastic. * Medium: Avoid camera bumps, or make the bumps smooth. It hurts the fingers. * Medium: Release Pixel non-pro in the smaller size, between 5.8-inch and 6.1-inch. You're competing with non-Pro iPhones. * Minor: Bring back the free photo storage with Google Photos for Pixel fans? I hope Pixel6a or Pixel7 fulfills some requests from this wishlist.

Sensor: i agree, hopefully it gets better with future updates. Glass back: Part of the reason why most smartphones have a glass back is because of wireless charging. Having a full metal back can interfere with the charging mechanism. I wish they would have gone with a matte finish instead of the glossy one. Camera bump: Camera bumps are here to stay until they figure out how to make the same powerful modules smaller Size: smaller size = less internal space = smaller battery

I believe that you are mistaken about the camera being able to provide 50 mp images. It can shoot raw.

Sadly the RAW images are capped at 12.5 megapixels. Maybe with a third-party app 50 megapixel images will be possible but for now it's stuck at 12.5.

RAWdigger rates the DNG images taken by my Pixel 6 as "16 bits per sample". So yes, I have shot the "max" available which is still 12.5-megapixels. Even as a RAW image it's still at that maximum resolution.

For the fingerprint issue just add your thumb twice !! The Tensor processor is less powerful than other flagship out there but on the other hand there is an AI learning in the Tensor so it mean than the processor will learn, adapt and get better over time and everyone compared this to the A15 bionic of Apple which do not have a real AI learning processing and we cannot compared Android against IOS !! Yes the A15 is powerful on benchmark but still Siri is bad even after 4 years when i say ''call the b*tch'' she gave me the same 1 or 2 names but when i say their real name she gave me another person, Siri do not learn compared to Google assistant. don't get me wrong Apple got great hardwares but raw power became useless if you can do the same over a less powerful processor after 3 to 5 years.

If you will see battery consumption comparison between pixel 6 and the pro, pixel 6 will win even if pro has a bigger battery and that's because of less refresh rate and less resolution... Tbh for a normal user you will not differentiate between 90 - 120 hz and FHD- QHD.. So for me I will go with the pixel 6 not pro Also note that I have a Huawei p20 pro and I think it is a good time to upgrade to pixel 6 so even mate 20 pro I think it is a good idea to upgrade now.

The regular Pixel 6 just feels more Google, more classic Pixel type, whereas the 6 Pro feels like a Samsung Galaxy phone running stock Android, and it's just gigantic, plus the curved edge screen sucks

honestly, if you use that’s great, but telephoto lens is so overrated, nobody I know EVER takes telephoto pics.

Yeah I'm using both of them and have no issues at all with either of them

yeah, only downside is that you cannot use the samsung health monitor for blood pressure and ECG readings
