Kecia, what a wonderful account of your grief journey! So personal, so emotional and so up lifting. I find it wonderful that you have a network of friends to surround you with their support. So happy for you. I know there are sad days in there, but we got this. We have to show up for ourselves because no one else can do this journey for us. Love everything you said! Catherine has taught us well as to how to travel this grief journey and still there to help us when we falter❤.

I just lost my husband of 18 yrs today. He was sick in and out of hospital due to diabetes. He was discharged from the hospital yesterday and went to sleep never waking up. He was 49 and left 2 boys and 2 girls behind. I never thought I would be a widow at 44😢. I'm shocked numb and sad. I have lost my daughter at 4 years old, my father when I was 14, my brother 8 years ago and my guy best friend 8 months ago. I'm so numb I cant explain it. Seeing my children suffer is breaking my heart. I know he is no longer suffering that's the only peace I have .✝️ God is my strength

Oh my goodness...what a video, what a positive and empowering video. Kecia, I so relate to many things you said. I have days when I feel in control and empowered, but sometimes it's like i take one step forward and two steps back. But I love how you talk about showing up for yourself. You truly do have an inner power house personality. I know God will use you to help many people. How do you handle the day to day reminders of your husband? My entire memory bank has some form of my husband in it, and those memories still hurt. I know someday they will comfort me, but right now, they still just hurt. How do you deal with that? ❤️

Hello sweetie .. thank you so much for taking the time to watch . I am so sorry for your loss and know I am sending you hugs! The day to day reminders are definitely bittersweet , I truly love our memories but the memories can’t love me back so I take them as they come . I allow myself to feel them in whatever way I need to in that moment. When the hurt from a memory comes the first thing I do is take a deep breath (like getting ready first that first drop of a roller coaster ride ) then I jot down what I’m feeling … how I’m feeling . Because for me dumping it out of brain and onto paper helps me to not become fixated on it . Sweetie give yourself grace for this journey… allow yourself all the time you need to feel all the feels . I said a prayer for you this evening!!

@@keciasmith1745 oh Kecia you are just the best. Thank you for all your words, hugs, and especially the prayer. I'm doing much better, God is good. I am truly blessed. I don't know what kind of music you like to listen to, but have you heard Jeremy Kemp's song, "These Days?" It says.... "I believe that you and I are in the right place at the right time, God called us by name and he doesn't make mistakes. Maybe we were made for these days!"
