The 4wd industry is all about marketing the "need" for a bunch of shit that you don't but by keeping it simple and functional you avoid getting bent over at the counter and by doing as much as you can yourself you avoid the labour markup that's placed on top of it, top stuff mate keep it up

Great work Pete. I recall watching your build... I knew the Bricky would come through in the end! I'm just rearranging the rear in my FJ... did have the half cargo barrier and shelf, but removed it so just have the remaining two side by side draws. That will give me more space for day to day use and modular for the trips. Got a stainless steel cover for the Travel Buddy and will be able to remove that to create more space when I don't need the TB for daily driving (but will definitely keep the TB in for all my trips). And the fridge will be removed when not required. Excellent vid mate... keep them coming... they're gold. 👍👏🍻

Hey Pete! I just finished the drawers/12v in my Isuzu Rodeo/MUX to you, and some guy ran a red light, and I hit him at 35mph. I'm ok, but, In short, the car is done😢 Good news is, my Dad is getting up there and he's giving me his 1973 Ford Bronco to replace it😁😁😁😁. Been in the family for 50 yrs. I went and picked it up with him in 1974. I almost cried😂. It's a total weapon! Cheers, Pete!🎉 Sounds like you've almost got it all figured out. That's half the fun😊

70s Ford Bronco! That has been my dream car. It was the only car I had posters of when I was growing up. Its the reason I ended up going for the 76. V8 wagon and basic. Good luck with the build mate. Very happy for you!

Pete, I am currently in the process of building my new draw set up for the new FJ. As the insurance pay out will never replace what I had I’ve had to do a few items on the cheap. The draws are one of those I can do my self in the drifta style later as I am a cabinet maker by trade. To get me up and running I’ve just grabbed 2 kings draws and a kings fridge slide all on special totalling $277, also grabbed $150 in MDF and fixings and fitting it all now as I get some time. I’ll build the good drifta style at a later date. Try MDF instead of ply to prevent warping. Also, the reason Drifta paint their draws with oil based paint is to seal the timber, this prevents moisture entering and causing warping. If you seal one side with carpet and leave the other side exposed then it will gain moisture n one side and bow. Tip 👍

I am happy for your build and happy it works for you but saying UES makes good quality hardware is just not correct. Their slide mounting points can vary from batch to batch very annoying if you are cutting your carcasses on a cnc. IRS have better hardware for those wishing to make their own set ups and they sell marine carpet as well.
