There's no value added tax (VAT), but there is import duty on most items. And almost everything is imported, so in effect, it works as a value added tax. Specifically on alcohol and tobacco it is quite low, so shop prices will be lower than UK for those items.

Wich part do you recommend to live in and which not so much. And: Idk if I could work as a German teacher or tutor or maybe a translator in Gibraltar 🇬🇮 ❤️ Is there any chance by teaching German there?

Hey! Thanks for your lovely comment :) As a worker, I would live on the west side of the rock. It’s much easy access to everything, offices, supermarkets, restaurants and bars! With time you might notice that religion and/or cultural background, plays a bigger role than color in Gib. :) Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, Hindu, Protestant, Orthodox, etc. A few hundred years living in that 3 mile stretch. I think they stopped caring about color a while back. Spanish cars, not always with Spanish people inside them, are mostly there to shop. Ever since that door was opened it expanded Gibs wealth and opportunity in many ways but yes, more cars, more people. But more importantly it opened that door for Gibraltarians to feel more geographical freedom and access to dairy fresh foods, beaches, forests, rivers and Europe without having to go to Morocco first.

You know! Iv watch your video, all of it, and it really upsets me for posting many wrong information. I would suggest for you to do a thorough research of my home, the place I was born and bred, before posting anything. Also, I would suggest you leave your little “Expat Bubble” and mix with the local people, which by the way, we are a multicultural Mediterranean mix. Fish and chips (which by the way that was introduce by the Portuguese to England in the 19th century) is not our national dish, it’s calentita (as your said after your quick google search) Rosto, calabacines rellenos, torta de azelgas, minestra, potaje and a lot more to mention a few is our national dish. Oh yes, our hospital is St Bernard’s Hospital and Hillside is a rehabilitation and day centre for the elderly. Finally, yes, the official language in GiB is English, but we have a local dialect called “Llanito” or “Yanito”, which is a mixture of English Spanish Italian and Arabic words thrown in into one sentence.

Hi as a born and bred Gibraltarian and though our nationality is British, Gibraltarian culture is definitely not UK, it’s Mediterranean with a twist of British/Andalucian/Italian/Maltese, Moroccan and others all mix, we a multicultural society and our way of life is Mediterranean. We speak English and Spanish and a mixture of both, called Llanito or Yanito, our culinary/ cooking is Mediterranean and its deep rooted and definitely not fish and chips, though nice but more for tourist. Young people do speak Spanish, and it would be shame if that bilingualism is lost 🇬🇮

Hi Nathalie Sorry if you are going to vlog about Gibraltar at least get your facts right, you have given more erroneous information in 9 minutes than the governmenrts of china and russia combined, Gibraltar has One Main hospital called st Bernardss and one Psychiatric hospital calle Ocwean Views, our National dish is indeed Calentita and the diet we r=tend to follow is Mediterranean, the Demographic is very Diverse yousay there are no Asians but yet Gibraltar ahs a huge iIndian community whicha has existed since the capture of the rock in 1704. if you didnt know this where have you been the past year, every other shop in Gib is either a british chain store or and Asian shop, there are over 10000 asians in a population of 30000, 5000 jews about 2500 moroccans as well as the local population, education is exclusively in English and Spanish is taught in school, the Street Language is Yanito which is a mmixture of English and spanish with words thrown in form all other cultures. So please if you want to continue to VLog about Gib dont stick to the English Expat community, get out and about meet people and educate yourself about our country and traditions.
