Focus more on your shoulders and do front lever to back lever with straight posture the whole way and back. Will increase overall shoulder strength.

Really grateful for the advice. I'm working on the kip, which I find pretty hard, as well as proper form in muscle up and straddle sit.

Oké, started day one with a muscle up and after a year still a muscle up. Zero TUT in backlever, front lever and iron cross 🤷🏼♂️ it’s better to build up some TUT in the correct position with resistance bands or a dream machine for example. Just falling down and hoping that you will hold iron cross some day only get’s you injured.

One year later I am jumping up just to grab those rings, not sure if I can even hold it more then 10 seconds...
@grzegorzjedrzejowski57463 жыл бұрын
Hi, you might already know this, but one of the reasons you are struggling with iron cross is incorrect technic. Your palms should face downwards and biceps forwards, scapula should be neutral or protracted. Roll your shoulders towards your chest, keep scapulas depressed and look in front of you. In this way you will activate muscles you were supposed to, which are pectorial major and minor (chest) not lats (back). It is very important. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the tips, I will be trying that out as soon as I'm restored from the last sesh! Cheers

Front lever/backlever is coming along well for u. Did u do specific workouts to get strong enough for these skills, if so u should post a workout vid
@lm37553 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I'm so glad to hear that! Honestly, I never had the dedication to do exercise-specific workouts. It was more of a habit thing. Have the bar hanging in the hallway and attempt a front lever whenever I'm bored. I did do progressions to get there though. The first being the hanging tuck-up, with the fully tucked front lever after that. And with the back-lever, you can see in the video that there was an aha-moment when I figured out how-to achieve straight form by jamming my elbows into my lats. As for a workout vid, we'll see. I'm swamped with other things in my life right now, but it could be a fun project if I find myself in lockdown anytime soon. Cheers and stay healthy.

How often were you using the rings; every day, every other day and what type of exercises were you doing with the rings?
@lm37553 жыл бұрын
A little too often I think. I was going about twice a week, and I feel like I haven't been diverse enough in my training, as I've had a returning problem with shoulder tendinitis. So I'm easier on the rings now, and trying to train more diverse. The exercises are pretty much what you see in the video+ lots of dips, muscle ups and small routines that combine them.

@@lm3755 work on the back rows and face pulls to bullet proof the shoulder. I have shoulder impingements for the last 25 or more years. Rest doesn't help, not for me at least. I am doing alot more resistance bands and starting on rings. Simply love it but will take it super slow, more practise to the basics to get the form right. The stress on the joint comes from the instability. Taking the instability away from the training will allow u you to train more often and safely.

No over traning. If i take too many dips i fell stiffness in My neckmussels and up to the skull/head. But thats it. Fish oil every day.

@Miam_miam_la_gauffre2 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's the best way to train iron cross (just lowering into position again and again) You are not conditioning your joints because you don't stay in the right position, use resistance bandes, easier progression (ring resting on forearms) and little hops to position with negative. That way you can learn both the technique (which is pretty simple but hey) and condition your tendons. Plus you can build strength with presses and Bulgarian dips. (Idk if you are doing that or not but doesn't cost much to point it out)
