Hi Anne! I love our Roof Rack. It was nice to not drill holes for the solar panels. Plus the space it provides is perfect for our kayak and traction boards. We love our new battery system! 200 watts of solar on the ruff seems to be enough. Our Battery charges at nearly 500 watts when we drive from our alternator. It's a good combo as we do not use much power as most people. Check out Americanvan.com for the roof rack. It was four years ago when we ordered ours. Thanks for the information. How many amp hours do you have in your battery bank? We bought a travel trailer last July with a solar system, but we run our batteries down in about 2 hours. We would love to boondock, but need more power. Keep up the good work. 😃
@oneadVANtureatatime2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary. We have 200 amp hours of lithium iron phosphate and 200 watts of solar on the roof. This works for us because we don't use any items that draw a lot of juice. Examples: Microwave, induction hot plate, toaster, heater, hairdryer, air conditioning. We use propane for our cooking, our heater uses fuel from our gas tank and we move when it gets hot. We would need more Solar panels then 200 watts but our dc to dc charger pulls 500 watts an hour from our vehicle battery when we drive. We are pretty darn minimal when it comes to power use. I hope this helps.
