My grandfather is the most stereotypical Italian man you’ll ever meet. He’s from Italy, moved to Chicago back in the 50s and opened up a successful suit shop. He’s got the most ridiculous Italian accent that my dad always mimicked and it was hysterical…he would take us to Lou Malnatis every damn time we went to his house, it was hands down his favorite place to grab a slice. Those trips are what made me into the pizza lover I am today. Good pizza, good times.

Definitely my favorite pizza. I grew up outside of Chicago and moved out to California with other family members. I order Lou Malnatis pizza every Christmas to give as part of Christmas gifts to family. Lou Malnatis has many locations in Phoenix, but they need to add some locations in southern California. I took a cross country train trip about 5 years ago, and Chicago was one of the stops. Stopped by Lou's for a deep dish, and its one of the best pizzas I've ever had. 9.2 for me.

For people who fly through Chicago Midway airport, there is a Lou Malnati’s down the street. For long delay, connection or just because order online for pickup, eat in or maybe a delivery service (not sure if that is feasible). Don’t order via the very expensive frozen pizza delivery +$40 for a small pizza that doesn’t always cook right to ruin your experience.
