what's the difference between the test results of a OTDR (JDSU 6000a) & the JDSU fiber certifier such as the JDSU fiber inspection or the EXFO Maxtester, do they all not produce the same results for a pdf report for the customer

The MaxTester is an OLTS (Optical Loss Test Set) so it measures bidirectional loss, Optical Return Loss and estimates distance. The difference is that if there is excessive loss in your span there is no way to tell where the cause of the loss is. The OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) tells you overall loss, span loss (between events) ORL, Attenuation rate, Connector Reflectance, Splice Loss, Macrobending and Microbending Loss and more.
