To try Charles' full Commune course Political Hope free for 10 days, head to onecommune.com/hope.
This workshop is an extended excerpt of Charles Eisenstein's Commune course, Political Hope. Our politics run on a mentality of war, and war mentality rests on the story of separation. The problem, as the saying goes, is that if you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail. If our go-to solution is to find the enemy and defeat them by force, we become blind to any other way of solving problems.

The secret to changing the world is prosocialising: 1. Promote altruism 2. Organise it with Free Collaboration Networks 3. Teach others to prosocialise. Very easy and very effective. Do it, water the social garden.

Meditation, contemplation, awareness, love, willingness to not know, one LSD trip in your life, being around nature and animals everyday, seeing the stars and Milky Way , self - less acts, kindness for strangers, loving yourself for the brave and sacred being you are, imagining yourself the day you die and what is truly important to you and who you wanted to be. For only then life begins. Self interest is fine, we just have the wrong idea about what is in our best interest. Thank you Charles for speaking so much truth. You inspire

When one understands the ego is the source of all separation and then learns to use the power of meditation as a way to heal separation; and eventually the world.

Thank you Charles for all your insights and wisdom. It’s a joy for me hearing and knowing I resonate with all that you offer…in the heart. It’s a joy to recognise where I could be more open. It’s a joy to know, at long last, that perfection doesn’t exist 😊

The origin of wrongness? The lack of understanding of your connectedness to the whole. Once you know you're connected to the whole you can't take action to harm Self.

The origin of problems is the deviation between good and evil the veiling of the human mind into a illusion of separation. The problem is not the human mind, it is how we use it.

Here's a very deep rooted deviation of the human animal. Our human religious urge has been violently and traumatically deviated from our reverence for the natural world to an expression that is monothoughtist, hierarchical and beneficial to The Rulers. You could also call them the Chosen Ones. This programming has been inherited for millennia. It lends those infected with a sense that they are entitled. It's as if the divine right of kings that started in the Mesopotamian city-states became generalized to any group with some kind of power. In our current age it's all about economic power with inherited wealth forming a dominant class.

It's hard as an ethical vegan to see being human as the standard for respect. Unless we can logically start talking about humanizing animals. Perhaps my morality does need to be focused on practical uses instead of technical ones

Charles, how dare you suggest that the "other side" is anything other than evil. My saddest (and most frightening) experience nowadays is when I read the comments on articles by the supposedly thoughtful and intelligent readers of publications like the NY Times (on one side) and the Wall Street Journal (on the other side). That's OK. I'm 66 with no kids and have a front seat in how we are now destroying ourselves in oh-so-many ways.

By identifying the other as evil, we are playing into the game of war.

@@ericminze Agree...but there is evil as an opposing/contrasting thought-form which we get to witness and choose how we take it... or leave it...how we relate to it...can we meet evil with love?...that is one question.

Because all you need to do is look at your own mind set. It’s the same mind set as the people who you see as evil. The mindset : “us/me against them”
