Doug, you are a true craftsman. The care and diligence you used in renovating the blind is excellent. Good to see the 6’-5” guy stop by. Now he can claim he “helped” with the project.

That's nicer than many AirBnBs out there! Although I'm still confused why you want to hide from the deer? I've found letting them see me with a chainsaw or next to a log splitter really brings 'em in, but could also be my Kavorka! 🤷‍♂😆🤣

Great build Doug.... Get an old propane stove and fuel tank .... you'll always have heat and a grill to cook bacon n eggs or burgers n dogs anytime you want.... Just put a catch trey between the food and flame and you'll never produce smoke from the grease... I've hunted out of many a blinds that have that..

Could you switch the lite to a red? Like they use in aircraft. Minimum lite to be see movement. Put a log book in the blind. Keep records on what you see, weather, or just what’s happening. Thoughts

Quite a huntin shack! Only because we're currently working through the issue at work, It seems like this may need some way to off load static? you have alot of surfaces insulated from earthing and quite a static engine with all the fake fur. When humidity is low, it's easy to store quite a potential for static discharge in the human body. May want to put a pacemaker warning sign on the door. 🙂

8:18 Supposedly mice don't like rockwool insulation. You could tack some sheet metal down in the areas that mice are likely to chew through, to prevent them from getting in.

I noticed you focus a lot on being quiet so as not to spook the deer, I’m not a hunter but I do live in the country and when I walk outside there will be 3 or 4 deer 30 ft from the door eating and they will look up at me and watch me close the door and walk to the car and then continue eating, so I’m thinking it must be so easy to hunt these deer, maybe they behave differently deeper in the woods.

We have different stands/blinds on our property from boxes like yours to more open compact ones. Our biggest is a 8x9 and it’s great with 2 people paying attention but there seems to be a lot of blind spots when you are sitting alone. Our 4x6 is better for one person but gets cramped especially with 2 people in it. My next attempt is going to be an octagon approximately 7-8’ across
