Doug, I’m happy to see you. I’ve watched all your videos. When you talk about content and not wanting to put out content that has been done a lot on KZbin Tube, keep in mind that we are not always watching for the raw content. We are watching to see it from Doug’s set of windows. It’s the nuance, the technique, the thought that you put into it. Little things. Valuable things. You don’t just set out to do something, you set out to do it well, with forethought. That’s rare these days. I already know how to fix my equipment, buck a log or turn a wrench. But there are a few guys on YT that I still watch do it, and you are one of them.

Good to see you back at it Doug. The lids on the firewood baskets is brilliant. Personally, I think for content you should consider collaborations where you travel around the Midwest to coach, consult and organize other folks' work spaces. Doug, my take is like many viewers, it is the process of the things you do, the planning, and the process of doing the things you do. You have a great way of explaining things and the thought process of doing things. Always great to see you and what the next project is. YT, to me, is like a car lot, all the same cars but each is unique is some way. You my friend, and that unique car/truck that keeps you coming back and is never boring even if other channels have done it already, you add a angle that others do not add, show, or explain the way you do. Watching you and Adam have that knack and are truly down to earth guys. Be safe and keep the great videos coming, no matter if it is done already, you are great at it and I always watch every single one and have since day 1. 👍🏻

Good to see you! Here’s a project idea for you. I have always wondered why nobody has ever built a stand to put their firewood baskets on while filling them. Elevating them I would think would be helpful on your back when they are empty. I guess the stand would be 18-24 inches tall depending on your body height and not to tall so you are not on your tippy toes once filled.

Adam has grown up so fast :) It's hard when the kids leave the nest and don't need you anymore. FWIW, a lot of people watch channels for who the host is. Yes, you may be making the 10th or 100th video on how to sharpen a chainsaw or whatever, but when you have an engaging style and/or an audience that already watches you, there's value in that. I definitely enjoy the infrastructure and welding & fabrication videos more than cutting wood or moving deer blinds, but I watch them all. Perhaps consider putting out a video every two or three weeks, but at least on a regular schedule. And believe it or not, I was going to make a comment on Adam's video this morning about "Where in the world is Doug?" and this one showed up.

Hey Doug, first of all, congratulations to you and Autumn. 34 years is an accomplishment these days. Chris & I will celebrate 45 years this October. You guys are a great role model. Ok, now, you are so far from boring, not even close. You are a teacher and encouraging to all of us. You’re the fellow who finds the better way. Look at the blue foam protection you added to your totes. I would have never thought of that. Just thinking about that big red oak that’s at Bobs, will that fit on Adams mill?? Maybe the guy that dropped the tree in your son’s yard could get that out of there. If Adam was willing to flip for having the remainder of that red hauled over, he could produce some serious oak lumber. Again that’s providing that tree will fit his mill. So good to see you and Autumn. All the best Doug. You’re kind of family to all of us out here. ❤😊

All the items that you have caught up on express your style and well done Doug creativity. Be well Doug as you continue to Live Long and Prosper in so many ways. 😀🖖🖖🖖

Either way hope you enjoyed your summer and please don't make excuses for taking the summer off, it's not a good look. One more thing I wanted to mention is to avoid your fan base from wondering if you've fallen off the face of the earth, there is a wonderful tool available to YT'bers called community. In there you can post updates like "hey all, just taking the summer off have a good one, see you in September". That way people aren't posting wanted posters on other channels. Just saying.
