Dr. Broshi dives into the Book of Job and the amazing picture of our messiah hidden in plain sight. Is this story part of what Yeshua was referring to in John 5:46 when he spoke of Moses writing about Him?

I noticed that he said nowhere else in the Bible was the name Job mentioned. That got me thinking because I thought the Lord mentioned him to a prophet in the Old Testament along side with Daniel and Noah regarding their righteousness. Looked it up and it is in Ezekiel 14:14. The verse says, “Even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were there, their righteousness would save no one but themselves, says the Sovereign LORD”. So there you have it. If God said he existed, then he did😊

@@cmain3931 Two Servants. In the second half of Isaiah, there are two Servants described. There is Israel, the failed Servant, and there is another Servant, Who is called Israel, but Who is shown to be separate, and greater than Israel. There are themes in this section also, that are associated with each Servant. With the Servant who is clearly Israel, there are the themes of her sinfulness, In 42:18-29, the Servant Israel is seen as a messenger who is deaf, blind, full of wickedness, in prison, and under God's judgment. Against that is another Servant in 42: 1-7 who brings righteousness and justice to the whole earth. He is also seen in some way superior and distinct from Israel in 42:6. He is called the covenant of the people. We will see that phrase again in 49. But at the very least, it shows an association with Israel, as well as a distinction. There is an otherness from corporate Israel. In contrast to the blind, deaf and imprisoned messenger Servant Israel later in the chapter, this Servant opens blind eyes, brings hearing to deaf ears, and sets prisoners free. Interestingly these are the exact descriptors Christians have used for 2000 years to describe the effects of believing on Jesus Christ. In 43, Israel the Servant is promised Gods continued preference, protection, and forgiveness for her sins….some of which are listed in the last part of the chapter as being very egregious to God. But note, here there is no mention of Israel the Servant being a light to the Gentiles. In 44, Israel the Servant is shown as being loved, protected, and redeemed by God, then reminded of the futility of idols, and charged to return to the Lord, and promised forgiveness. In 45, Israel is not called the Servant at all, but is shown the futility of Idols, and commanded to return to God. In 48, Israel is also not called the Servant, but is severely criticized for her wickedness, treachery, and obstinate rebellion against God. Interestingly, in verse 16, there is introduced an enigmatic Presence with God from the beginning. This presence has spoken in the past, and is now being sent...presumably to the earth...by Adonai, and His Ruach, (Spirit) In 49 the Servant is called Israel, but in this passage He is seen as definitely being Other than Israel, superior, greater in morality, power, and authority. In 49:5 the Servant is charged with the job of bringing Jacob and Israel back to God….He is Other. In 49:4, and 6, the Servant is seen as being unsuccessful in His, apparent, but not actual, primary mission. He is seen as unsuccessful in bringing Israel back to God. That is….He wants Israel to return, but Israel won't return. That is difference of consciousness...difference of will. That is Other than Israel. There is another Servant. In 49:7, the Servant is described as being the one the Nation (Israel) hates. Once again this is another Servant...not Israel. In 49:6 this Servant is promised to be successful in His greater mission...that of being a light to the Gentiles, and of being God's Salvation to the ends of the earth. This brings back to mind the enigmatic Presence Adonai was going to send, back in 48:16...only such a divine Presence could become God's Salvation to the world. In 45:22, God says "Look unto Me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else. Also, in 49:7, there is the mention of Kings and Pinces bowing down to this Servant...we will see this again in 52. In 50:1-3, Israel is seen as sinful and under Gods punishment. The rest of the chapter describes the Servant, setting His face like a flint, being whipped, having His beard pulled out, but ultimately being vindicated by God. In 52:13, through 53:12, the Servant is seen again, and in this passage answers the question How will He be Adonai's salvation to the ends of the world? First of all...in 53:11 he Servant is described as righteous...something not described of Israel the Servant. In 53:9, He is described as being without sinful violence, or deceit, once again the opposite of how Isaiah described Israel. In 53:12, He is described as making intercession for transgressors, interestingly, in 59:16, God could not find one intercessor for sinners in Israel. The Servant is sinless...and once again He is Other than Israel. In 53:10, the Servant dies as an Asham, a guilt offering. The asham always dies for the sins of another. I. 53:8, He dies for the transgressions of "my people," Israel...once again, He is Other than Israel. Finally, this is all Gods promised salvation to the Gentiles. It starts out with the news going viral to the Gentile nations, which follows the theme of 42, and 49. The effect is found in 53:11, where because of the Righteous Servants anguish of soul, many would be made righteous. In 53:5, His sacrifice for sin brings healing to others. These are all religious terms...God's salvation to the ends of the earth, a light to the Gentiles, making many righteous, spiritual healing from sin and its effects....and whatever else, they are real promises from God. This is a promise. So has it been fulfilled? Has there come Someone closely associated with Israel, but Other than Israel, who died as an Asham for sinners? Who started a new religion based on His sacrifice that went absolutely viral around the world, with many experiencing God's forgiveness and salvation and healing from evil because of it? Yes….Once. When Jesus Christ, the Son of God was crucified, rose from the dead, and the news of that started the world wide phenomenon of the rise of Christianity! Personally, an effect of my faith in Jesus Christ continues to heal me from the evils I partook of before I met Him.

Okay, I've only listened to the first 10 minutes or so and the answer is: This is God's Word written to His humans. Thus it is a real man, a real encounter of satan with God, all that is recounted DID happen. I have read Job many times, more times than I can remember and did it carefully with attention to details. Even the righteous experience trials, tribulations, trouble. This is the message of Job, to understand that no one is exempt. It is how we react to the trials that count. In the end Job rebelled (a little bit and understandably, from a human view point) and questioned God's decisions. Oops, don't do that, and Job had his knuckles whacked for doing it. The lesson is clear. Accept all of God's decisions, we are not our own, God made and owns ALL of this. His decisions are always for our own good. So make sure your faith remains strong, is strengthened, by the trials we face, always look for lessons to be learned. I have faced many severe trials since my first reading of Job. So much so that I have trouble reading it again because I can't keep from weeping. Yes, all of Job actually happened and the lessons to be learned from Job are many. Don't read it like a story, read it like an instruction book, or you'll completely miss the point. Job could be YOU and you need to be ready. Do not be fooled, the closer your walk with God the more likely it will be that your faith, your beliefs, your knowledge, will be challenged. Always be prepared.

@@nothingbutthetruth3227 Thank you for your comment. I followed much the same path, though not to the extremes you seem to have gone. God pulled me back. He has taught me several very hard lessons. Not as punishment but so that I learned and never forgot, just as you say. God has literally (I do mean LITERALLY) saved my life more times than I can remember. I ought to write them down so I don't forget them. Some were unforgettable! Tornadoes, bears, bad guys, motorcycles, cars, drugs, the list is seemingly endless. By rights I should be dead many times over. But God said NO, not yet. I frequently wonder why I am still here? But it also means I have no fear at all. I don't die one moment sooner or one moment later than God says so. The same goes for you. Your testimony is very important. That you spread it is very important. Others are on the path you followed but are afraid to admit it or just don't know how to get off the wide path. God has made you one to lead others back to TRUTH. My wife and I are going back through the last five chapters of Daniel right now. Me because there's some mathematical stuff I don't understand, or better put, I don't yet see how it adds up. In the Book of Job I see the entire arc of mankind's life on earth. Like Adam and Eve in Eden, Job starts out blessed by God. He's happy and prosperous. Then you-know-who comes along and tries to destroy him. Then a mighty struggle to understand what happened and why. Then God intervenes resulting in Job's restoration to health and prosperity on a scale and to a degree greater than his previous existence. So we go from this life of struggle with evil and death to salvation in Christ and the final restoration of believing mankind to Paradise.

Sometimes he speaks to low so it's impossible to know how to set my volume. I listened to him for a long time, but got really tired of this problem. So sadly, if he doesn't find a way to modulate his voice, much of his message will never be heard. I'm certain I'm not the only person whose experienced this issue.

I agree and great scripture to cite. My thinking is if Moses (God through Moses) was merely "filling in the blanks" in Job, how could we be certain God wasn't 'filling in the blanks' with the exodus account or the Gospel of Jesus? *All* scripture is God-breathed as the NT asserts, so we can fully rely on its inerrancy and reliability. It's either all true or none of it is. Blessings!😇

"Job" was real in a way. Moses briefly mentions him in Gen. 46:13. He was one of 4 sons of Issachar. Eliphaz the Temanite is the son of Esau and is mentioned in Gen. 36:15. So Job is definately the 1st book of the Bible. Now turn to 1st Chron. 7:1, you will again read that Issachar had for sons, but one of the names has been changed. That is Jashub, in Hebrew Jashub means "he will return".

@@richardbeee, viviane truyen I believe Job was very real, but I don't necessarily think he is the one mentioned in these verses, for the reason that these names may sound similar to the English "Job" but not to the Hebrew Eyob. The name of Job in Hebrew is אִיּוֹב aleph+iod+vav+bet, pronounced Eyob (rimes with Elon). - In Genesis 46:13, Iob son of Issachar, pronounced Yob and spelled iod+vav+bet. No aleph at the beginning. This is a different name. - In Genesis 10:29 Jobab son of Joktan, pronounced Yobab and spelled iod+vav+bet+bet, again no aleph at its beginning. Just my humble opinion, peace :)

A hint of Job's location. Somewhere that Job would be aware of the Jordan River. Behemoth lapped up the Jordan River Job 40:23. I doubt Job had TV, Internet, or Satellite so he most likely would not know of the Jordan River if he lived far away like Babylon, Persia, Greece, etc. I imagine he lived in the area of Jordan or Israel or maybe Syria. Its been awhile since i read Job. I read it in full faith and was very disappoint when God interrupted saying i had basically wasted my time listening to Jobs friends. And THEN, the beauty of the secrets began. Now i understood the knowledge of lightning coming from the ice clouds. God speaks in light. Job was a righteous man who had been highly respected. We can think that we are humble, but you cant known until you come to the place of being disrepected. Job was suffering the labor of a birth. When the Word is fully formed within, it is time for labor and birth. Ultimately, Job fully submitted to God's authority. If God says it, it is fact. Just repeat what he says. Jesus showed us that at our high point, it is time to wear the garment of the servant who washes feet. Mary of Bethany sought the "good part" at the feet of Christ. At the end, Job accepted the grace of God's glory. Frankly, i see this as a time of a new birth.
